FT: Swansea City 3-1 Bristol City

Thank you for joining us at a soaking wet Swansea.com Stadium.

Swansea City made hard work of it, but they have come from behind to beat Bristol City - who are now without an away win in 10 games.

You can read the match report here.

The result means the Swans leapfrog Bristol City in the Championship table up to 16th.

The Robins drop a place to 17th, but are still 17 points clear of the bottom three.

    Until next time!

Swansea have shown real character to come back and win because they have struggled this season to respond when they've gone behind.

This will give them real confidence now as they look ahead to what will be a tricky period.

Result over performance, I did say it, and listen to the noise here now, fantastic.

It was brilliant from Piroe. That's why you keep him on the pitch because all he needs is half a chance.

For Swansea to have their top scorer back among the goals is a massive boost too as they now look up the table.

  5. 'A great signing'published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

Of all the people who you want to score a goal at this moment in time, it's Joel Piroe.

It's a great finish, I'd expect nothing more.

He's back now, and it's a great sign for Swansea.

  6. FULL-TIME - Swansea City 3-1 Bristol Citypublished at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

It took a while to reach its heights, but it was worth the wait for Swansea City.

After Andreas Weimann had given Bristol City the lead in the first half with an excellently taken strike, the Swans had it all to do.

But they found an extra gear in the second half, despite some heart-in-mouth defending at times.

Michael Obafemi levelled it up before Cyrus Christie bundled in a second.

Joel Piroe scored his first goal in eight games to wrap up the three points in injury time.

Russell Martin celebrates with the home crowd here in south Wales, they'll go happy after a first comeback win since October.

    Game, set and match.

He's been quiet for most of the afternoon but Joel Piroe has made sure Swansea City will be leapfrogging Bristol City in the Championship table.

Bristol City commit men forward, and a deflected pass falls to Piroe 25 yards out, he plays the ball past the last defender and strikes low into the bottom right corner.

Russell Martin is half way down the touch line to celebrate.

Bristol City can count themselves unlucky. That may well have been a penalty if we had VAR here.

Bristol City want a penalty as Antoine Semenyo goes down in the box, but Keith Stroud is not interested.

Six minutes of injury time are announced, must to the frustration of the home crowd and Swansea bench.

We've been going on all afternoon about quality into the box.

Bristol City had to defend it, they don't defend it, sixes and sevens from both sides.

Ntcham gets a head on it and it just falls to Christie who doesn't know much about it, but who cares?

Now they've got to manage it.

Swansea are looking for a third, but they take too much time on the ball.

First Cyrus Christie and Jamie Paterson can't make their minds up who is going to shoot, before Christie passes back to Joel Piroe who gets similarly confused with Hannes Wolf.

Goalscorer Michael Obafemi makes way for Joel Latibeaudiere, while Bristol also make a change - Nahki Wells on for Cameron Pring.

It was like pinball in the box and I'm not sure how much Christie knew about that one but he won't care.

Swansea have done wonderfully to claw this one back but they can't let off now.

They must keep that tempo high and go for a third to make the result safe.

GOAL - Swansea City 2-1 Bristol Citypublished at 79 mins

    Cyrus Christie

Swansea have turned the game of its head.

Ryan Manning burst down the left and delivered a low cross which Joel Piroe flicked on.

Cyrus Christie's initial shot is saved by Daniel Bentley, the rebound falling to substitute Olivier Ntcham.

He heads back to Chrisite, with suspicions of offside, and the wing-back does just enough to put the ball in the back of the goal.

It's a comical finish, but Swansea City won't mind one bit.

Just 10 minutes left in south Wales for Bristol to find an equaliser.

It's definitely an attacking change to take a centre-half off in a game that's already cagey.

The Robins are growing into the game with each minute.

Antoine Semenyo bursts into the Swansea area this time but drags his tame effort wide of the post.

There's a short break in play while Semenyo receives treatment for a knock.

    Swansea City 1-1 Bristol City

Flynn Downes, who has been the most assured player on the ball for Swansea, becomes the latest to lose possession cheaply.

Antoine Semenyo sets Andreas Weimann racing clear again but his effort is deflected just over.

Chris Martin tries a back heel flick at the front post from the resulting corner but that too goes over the bar.
