    Northern Ireland 2-2 Switzerland

    Earlier today...

Northern Ireland put in an impressive showing to fight back and draw 2-2 with Switzerland in Marbella.

Simone Magill scored a brilliant opening goal as NI outplayed Switzerland, 29 places higher in the world rankings, in the first half.

Alisha Lehmann and Ramona Bachmann capitalised on defensive mistakes to put the Swiss in front after the restart.

Magill struck again with a well-taken penalty to secure a draw on 72 minutes.

In the second of three friendlies, manager Kenny Shiels reverted to his tried and trusted players after experimenting in their 3-1 victory over the Faroe Islands on Thursday.

  3. 'Intriguing'published at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2022

    HT: England 0-0 Spain

It's been an intriguing match. Spain have been put under pressure by England's high press and haven't coped too well. Beth Mead has arguably been England's most threatening outlet but they haven't tested the goalkeeper.

Alex Greenwood has made some great passes from the back. More of the same but more ruthless in attack?

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:03 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2022

    England 0-0 Spain

That's the end of the first 45, as England, with only 34% of the ball, fail to register a shot on target.

They've kept it tight at the back, although there's work for Sarina Wiegman to do at the break.

Jordan Nobbs has worked really hard off the ball but is just rushing her passing a little.

She had so much time on the edge of the box then. England are definitely winning the battles out of possession though.

  6. England Under-23s drawpublished at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2022

England's Under-23s have been in action today as well and have drawn 1-1 against France.

The French took the lead through Naomie Feller in the 22nd minute, but England equalised two minutes later thanks to a goal from 21-year-old Ebony Salmon.

Salmon, who plays her club football for Racing Louisville in the United States, has played for England at senior level, coming on as a late substitute in the 6-0 friendly win over Northern Ireland 12 months ago.

    England 0-0 Spain

Better from England as the ball is switched to the right wing and Beth Mead's cross is aimed towards Ellen White, but England's record goalscorer can only get a glancing header on to it and it does not threaten the goal.

    England 0-0 Spain

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Carrow Road

It's been a pretty decent game despite the lack of goalmouth action but it has started to go a bit flat. England haven't seen much of the ball but are well organised and Spain aren't creating much.

We've had 35 minutes of action, yet neither goalkeeper has been tested yet.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 32 mins

    England 0-0 Spain

Ellen White is clattered into from behind, inside the centre circle, and that is a deserved yellow card for Spain defender Ivana Andres - she can't have any complaints.

    White's OK to continue.

    England 0-0 Spain

The way the draw for this summer's Euro 2022 has been made, these two countries could meet in the final if they both win their groups.

However, with England in Group A and Spain in Group B, if one nation advances as group winners with the other ones progressing as runners-up then they will meet in the quarter-finals.

  12. Postpublished at 29 mins

    England 0-0 Spain

This Spain side are so good to watch in possession. It's one-touch, pulling the opposition out of position and then looking to spring an attack.

Unfortunately for them, Marta Cardona puts too much on a ball over the top after a lovely spell of crisp passing.

  13. Postpublished at 25 mins

    England 0-0 Spain

Jennifer Hermoso, the all-time top scorer for both Barcelona and Spain, has put herself on corners duty and it's an excellent delivery from the left, but England manage to scramble it clear.

  14. Postpublished at 23 mins

    England 0-0 Spain

The goal England conceded versus Canada last week was the first time an opposing team had scored against the Lionesses since Sarina Wiegman took over at the start of September.

How they get on in this tournament will be a real indication of how good this England team is after Wiegman's side started with six successive victories, scoring 53 goals in the process and conceding none, including mammoth 20-0, 10-0, 10-0 and 8-0 wins.

  15. 'Early nerves'published at 20 mins

    England 0-0 Spain

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Carrow Road

I don't think Hannah Hampton realised just how far she had come out then and it was a mix-up with Jess Carter. Bit of early nerves from the England goalkeeper making her debut.

At the other end England have been brilliant with their pressing. Spain aren't looking too comfortable and Jill Scott almost robbed it off them in the box.

  16. Postpublished at 19 mins

    England 0-0 Spain

Nearly a disaster for goalkeeper Hannah Hampton on her England debut. She rushes out of her penalty area trying to deal with a long ball forward but there's mis-communication between her and Jess Carter with the pair bumping into each other.

Carter manages to half-clear, but it falls to Aitana Bonmati, although her 30-yard lob is just over the bar. A let-off for England there.

  17. Postpublished at 16 mins

    England 0-0 Spain

Good link-up play between Arsenal colleagues Jordan Nobbs and Beth Mead, who swings in a cross from the left side of the penalty area, looking for Ellen White at the back post, but goalkeeper Misa Rodriguez is off her line quickly to gather the ball.

  18. Postpublished at 14 mins

    England 0-0 Spain

As expected, Spain have enjoyed a great deal of possession, 66% of it so far, with England having to work hard off the ball and having to be disciplined to keep things tight.

    England 0-0 Spain

A chance for England's Jill Scott on the edge of the penalty area after Georgia Stanway did well to gain possession. Scott opts for power, but under a challenge, can only shoot wide of goal.
