The pressure was on as Arsenal dropped points yesterday. It’s a big, big game for Chelsea. The back four were absolutely outstanding. For me Jess Carter was the player of the match. She was so resolute in her defending, especially in that second half, wave after wave of attack from Manchester City. This was such a good defensive display. It’s taken the pressure off them a little bit now.

Jemma Purfield goes for goal from a free kick some 25 yards from goal and she is not far off as the ball drops just wide of the upright.

A heavy touch by Faye Bryson sees a Reading chance disappear just as a promising chance seemed to be opening up.

Danielle Turner was able to pounce and clear before Bryson could turn the ball back toward Deanne Rose in the box.

Spurs have a free kick, too. Eveliina Summanen hits it straight into the wall.

If you like decent defending then this is the game for you. We've just passed the 20 minute mark and are still waiting for a notable chance.

Tigerish in the tackle and I think she’s been really effective today in the middle.
