It's all about the timing for the goal. It's a quality header from someone not really known for her heading ability.

    Everton 1-0 Reading

It appears that Anna Anvegard has been officially credited with the goal for Everton. Replays show she got a firm boot on the ball as it was fired in low by Claire Emslie.

Emslie is instead given the assist. It will go down as an assist that was celebrated more than the goal itself.

There were chances for both teams in the first half and we saw Manchester City come back into it in the closing stages of the first half.

Guro Reiten has got everything. The ball held up and she showed really great timing. There was nothing Ellie Roebuck could have done because it was a well executed header.

  13. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Man City

    Oooff!

Jess Carter's cross is cleared only as far as Aniek Nouwen, who fires it back in from distance.

It was going wide, but confused Roebuck, who parried it. The wind is causing trouble.

    Chelsea 1-0 Man City

Another free kick for City, this time from the left. It reaches Jess Park, who forces Berger into a fine stop with a swing of her left boot.

  20. goal

GOAL: Everton 1-0 Readingpublished at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2022

    Claire Emslie

From a short corner routine Everton take the lead.

Claire Emslie plays the ball short and has it returned to her. She then surges into the box and beats Grace Moloney with a low shot.

There will be a little debate about who got the last touch. Was it an own goal? Or did Anna Anvegard actually help it home for the hosts?
