Chelsea win the ball high after City play it from the back. There wasn't much conviction and Roebuck didn't have much time on the ball.

  4. 'Pressure is on Chelsea'published at 12:34 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2022

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

    Lucy Ward
Former Leeds striker on BBC Two

This will be a more competitive game than when Chelsea won 4-0 at Manchester City earlier in the season. The pressure is on Chelsea because they have games in hand. They need the points because they are going for the title. I really do think Manchester City will have a say on who wins the title because they are back to their best.

  8. Lots of goals?published at 12:29 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2022

Chelsea v Man City (12:30 GMT)

    Kelly Smith
Former England striker on BBC Two

Chelsea have had some good form but have had players out with injuries. Hopefully this game will bring us lots of goals. This is such an important game for Manchester City because that would put them two points off Chelsea and that would leave them in the frame for Champions League football.

This is a brilliant dress rehearsal ahead of the Continental League Cup final. There is nothing between these two teams really. It's going to be tough task for Chelsea. The conditions are really difficult with the swirling wind.

There are four other WSL games coming up today.

    • Everton v Reading (13:00 GMT)

    • Tottenham v Brighton (14:00 GMT)
    • Aston Villa v West Ham (18:00 GMT)
  14. The form bookpublished at 12:09 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2022

Chelsea v Man City (12:30 GMT)

Emma Hayes and Gareth TaylorImage source, Getty Images

Both sides come into this game in phenomenal form, which is why this one will be so tough to call.

There has been just one defeat in the last six games between them, with Chelsea winning their last three.

Victory here and on Friday against Arsenal would see Emma Hayes' side take control of the title race.

City, meanwhile, know that victory will take them above Tottenham, at least for the time being.

Chelsea and WSL top scorer Sam Kerr is named in the starting line-up following her return from the Asian Cup, after making a substitute appearance for the Blues in midweek.

That is one of two changes made by manager Emma Hayes from her team’s League Cup win over Manchester United. Goalkeeper Ann Katrin-Berger comes in for Zecira Musovic, while defender Niamh Charles drops to the bench.

Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor names the same starting XI which saw off Tottenham 3-0 in the League Cup semi-final on Thursday.

Norwegian midfielder Julie Blakstad, who made her debut as a substitute in that match, remains on the bench, while captain Steph Houghton misses out again through injury.
