    Cameroon 2-1 Comoros

Comoros can be hugely proud of their efforts. No-one gave them a chance when they had to name a left back in goal because of Covid-19 and injuries and even less of a chance when they were down to 10 men early on but they pushed Cameroon all the way. Superb effort.

    Cameroon 2-1 Comoros

    All over!

Cameroon hold on to win and progress to the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals.

    Cameroon 2-1 Comoros

There's three minutes of time added on. Not much time for Cameroon to hold on and not much time for Comoros to grab an equaliser.

Cameroon take the ball into the corner as they try and tick down the clock.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 90 mins

    Cameroon 2-1 Comoros

Chaker Alhadhur might have to think about a career change as he is doing a fine job as a goalkeeper, pushing over a strong effort from distance by Martin Hongla.

    It keeps Comoros in this.

More changes for Comoros as Fouad Bachirou is replaced by Moussa Djoumoi while Said Bakari makes way for Ali M'Madi and Ibroihim Youssouf is on for Mohamed Youssouf.

enoch125: can someone please explain why I’m sat in my living room cheering on Comoros???

Darren JM: Comoros have been amazing in this game with 10 men and a makeshift keeper. What a goal!!!

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 84 mins

    Cameroon 2-1 Comoros

Fresh legs in the middle as they try to see this out.

    Cameroon 2-1 Comoros

Comoros are ranked 132nd in the world, they are playing with a left back in goal and had a player sent off in the first five minutes yet they are still in this and, but for some superb keeping, could have actually been on course for a big upset.

There's still time yet for more drama...

    Youssouf M'Changama

    Brilliant strike! Incredible!

Youssouf M'Changama thumps the ball into the top corner with one of the best free kicks you will see this season!

It is the least Comoros have deserved for what has been a superb, battling performance and suddenly it is game on!

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 79 mins

    Cameroon 2-0 Comoros

    Great save!

Andre Onana has certainly been the busier of the two goalkeepers and he denies Comoros pulling one back as he pushes away El Fardou Ben's strong effort from inside the box.

Comoros have certainly had their moments!

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 77 mins

Karl Toko Ekambi, scorer of the opening goal, goes off and is replaced by James Lea Siliki, currently at Middlesbrough.

    Cameroon 2-0 Comoros

    Good save by Andre Onana!

Comoros break quickly again and work the ball neatly into the Cameroon box as Abdallah Ali Mohamed gets away from the defence and shoots towards the near post where Onana gets a strong hand to push behind.

    Cameroon 2-0 Comoros

Six goals for Vincent Aboubakar at the Africa Cup of Nations, the first player to hit more than five goals in a single tournament since 1998.

It has been a hugely valiant battle by Comoros but Cameroon are on their way to the quarter-finals.

    Vincent Aboubakar

But now Cameroon have a second!

A brilliant ball from midfield picks out Vincent Aboubakar inside the box and he shrugs off his marker before beating Chaker Alhadhur at his near post.

A fine finish that even an established keeper would have struggled to keep out.

  19. Postpublished at 67 mins

    Cameroon 1-0 Comoros

Half a chance for Comoros as the ball is cut back to Youssouf M'Changama inside the area but he is just beaten to the ball as he attempts to shoot.

  20. CLOSE!published at 66 mins

    Cameroon 1-0 Comoros

Cameroon are upping the pressure and go close to that elusive second as Christian Bassogog rides a couple of challenges just inside the area before thumping an effort just wide of the post.
