I'm really quite split because I really, really loved playing at Elland Road. I always looked forward to the atmosphere. Everyone in white or yellow, they just wanted you to lose. We were going to stop them. That was our aim. It was brilliant to be part of all that.

But at the same time, it's the only place that's not been great. I got spat at coming out after a shower in my club suit. Someone spat at me in my face. I've never seen that anywhere.

And of course Kasper played there and I am not going to go into those experiences. They were singing the most horrible song to him about what they thought about his dad but you're OK. You're thinking 'that's not a nice song to sing to you'.

Big day for Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel who faces his former club. Simon Grayson was in charge of Leeds when Schmeichel signed in 2010. He spent one season at Elland Road before joining Leicester.

Today he will play his 461st game for the Foxes taking him to third in the club's all-time list of appearances.

His dad has been recalling some of his encounters when visiting Elland Road.

Football Focus will be showing an emotional interview with Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko who says he cannot count the number of times he has cried in the past week after Russia invaded his homeland Ukraine.

Speaking to Gary Lineker, Zinchenko thanks the world for standing with Ukraine.

"I can show you one million pictures. I can show you one million videos, what they are doing now. I can show you every city in my country, which they destroyed," he adds.

"The people are starving there. The people are just surviving, sleeping on the ground, in bunkers, they cannot live a proper life."

Football Focus is on BBC One from 12:00 GMT.

For some Leeds fans, Jesse Marsch is already starting from a negative position purely by virtue of not being Marcelo Bielsa.

The Argentine was adored by Whites supporters and embraced by a club and city to which he brought not only brilliant, fearless football but an integrity and humility not often evident in modern football and a unity and purpose rarely seen at Elland Road this century.

His successor will not only have to reckon with Bielsa's metaphorical shadow but also the more tangible representations of his impact - murals of him across the city and an as-yet-unannounced "permanent tribute" by the club.

Marsch will be helped by the fact he inherits a club transformed by Bielsa - now modern, forward-thinking, with much-improved facilities and a culture in tune with Billy Bremner's famous mantra 'side before self, every time'.

Jamie Vardy is one of a kind. He's hard to try and coach or train. He has achieved so much and can still keep going. His body will never change. He will be 50 years-old and his body will still be the same.

It is obviously a huge boost for Leicester to have Jamie Vardy back in their starting XI. They look a different beast with him charging around up top, as demonstrated by his game-turning cameo at Burnley midweek.

Leicester actually did Leeds a bit of a favour at Turf Moor with their win, with the Whites and Clarets both firmly in the relegation mix.

There will be no favours today, though. It has been an inconsistent season for the Foxes but now with a first league win of 2022 under their belt, they're looking up.

With the Manchester derby on Sunday along with Watford-Arsenal, only three of the top six are in action today.

Second-placed Liverpool hope to keep the pressure on Manchester City by defeating West Ham at Anfield in the late kick-off.

Third-placed Chelsea can have a big say at the bottom of the Premier League in the next few days. After today's game at Burnley, Thomas Tuchel's side visit Norwich on Thursday.

James Maddison is also injured and fails to make the bench.

Jesse Marsch's first Leeds team sees two changes from the Marcelo Bielsa's last. Defender Diego Llorente is injured and midfielder Adam Forshaw drops to the bench.

In come forward Rodrigo and midfielder Mateusz Klich.

How they set up in formation remains to be seen.

In other big news, striker Patrick Bamford is amongst the substitutes - setting the possibility of a first appearance since early December.

"I think my ethos fits well with this club and this community in Leeds. I'm from Milwaukee in Wisconsin and it reminds me of what Leeds is.

"I come from a hard-working family, my father worked in a factory for 32 years, I only know working hard and giving everything I have.

"I will do that at Leeds. I promise that."

It was an impressive showing from new Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch in his first press conference in charge.

The American read the room well as he began by recognising the great work done by his predecessor Marcelo Bielsa.

"I will always be respectful of what has happened here in the last three and a half years," he told BBC Radio Leeds, "because of the accomplishments the club has had and the type of coach Marcelo is."

The former RB Leipzig boss recognises that there is scepticism around American head coaches in English football, saying "I think there probably is a stigma", before joking that "I'm not sure Ted Lasso helped! I get it.

"People hate using the word soccer but I've used the word football since I was a professional player".

The King Power Stadium. Scene of Jesse Marsch's first game as Leeds boss. The place is looking well for him.

The Whites' new boss is fully accepting that the fans in the away end here are likely to spend much of this game paying tribute to his successor, Marcelo Bielsa. The American could really do with a positive start, or the chants for the Argentine might just get that bit more fierce.

Leeds come here off the back of a month in which they conceded 20 goals and took just one point from a possible 15. Being in this game until the end will be a humble but positive start.

Matt: Walking into any job following behind a massive figure like Bielsa is always a tough task. Although I am sad to see him leave as he got Leeds into the Premier League for the first time that I have seen, I am remaining hopeful for Marsch. Leeds fans should get behind him and hope we stay up.
