Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We could have done better. We did pretty well first half, but in the second half if you are not better, you need quick legs, big heart and passion and that's what we needed to get the result.
"We had a lot of shots to finish them off but we had a lot of blocked shots.
"In the end it was open, we needed a bit of luck, but you cannot win as many games in a row as we have without a bit of luck, you can't do this by only winning when you are flying.
"We could have done better, there is a lot of space for improvement. We will go away and work on that and get the chance to go again on Tuesday against Inter."
On recent signing Luis Diaz: "He is a top player - a most easy player to coach because all the things he is doing are pretty natural to him. There is not a lot of coaching necessary. Of course he needs to work on one or two things we do defensively, but he is very football smart, has a big heart and wants to fight extremely hard for the team."
La Liga leaders Real Madrid have just fallen behind to a Real Sociedad penalty from Mikel Oyarzabal.
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
Jarrod Bowen actually broke a West Ham record for consecutive Premier League appearances today.
He has played in their last 79 league games, breaking Steve Potts' record from 1994 to 1996.
Sadly it looked a bad injury today so you fear that record might come to an end.
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
West Ham United
West Ham boss David Moyes to Sky Sports: "A much better performance and good performances tend to lead to good results. We didn't quite get the result today but we got a much-improved performance.
"We've come close here recently. They have got so many areas of the pitch where they can score goals from it is difficult to fill them all up.
"We tried to stay in the game and kept a clean sheet. If we had kept a clean sheet I think we would have gone on to win the game.
"We're trying to be attack minded. I don't want to go away and just sit in but there were times today where we had to suffer without the ball.
"They started very well but we grew into it. We had a great chance when Pablo [Fornals] was through but he didn't finish. And late on if any team was going to get a goal it was us.
"We need to be clinical, the quality of the last finish and cross which has been lacking.
"I thought Michail Antonio was exceptional today but we are still needing the little bit of class at the end that we have lacked in recent weeks."
On Jarrod Bowen's fitness: "They seem to think that the tackle from Robertson, around his heel area. Not sure where but we will get him scanned. Jarrod has been exceptional for us so the last thing we want is for him to be injured.
"It could be nothing, but in the same breath I didn't like the way he wasn't able to put his weight through his foot so that worries me."
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
West Ham United
West Ham manager David Moyes speaking to Match of the Day: "We just lacked that little bit in the box. The players played really well today, I don't think a draw would have been off the mark but we didn't get it.
"We needed one to go in. We had to ride our luck at the start but we grew into the game and had three big chances, plus one or two other opportunities on top of that."
On Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen: "I think Jarrod will have a scan on his heel area. He has been playing really well for us so it would be a blow if we go into the Sevilla game without him.
"Declan had illness that came on on Thursday and through Friday. We are hoping it will not be too bad but I can't tell at the minute."
Tammy Abraham scored the only goal for Roma against Atalanta today, taking him up to 20 goals in Italy since his summer move from Chelsea.

FT: Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
Liverpool
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports: "I don't know if we will remember this game as one of the important ones.
"We know about the different things West Ham are good at. In the first half we denied them these situations but in the second half the game was more open.
"They knew they had to be direct and around the second ball we were not as good, but you have to get over the line and I was pleased with that.
"If you are not well organised you have to defend with passion and that's what we did.
"We were lucky in these moments but you cannot win the amount of games we have recently without stretching your luck from time to time.
"So I am absolutely happy with the result. I know we can do much better but we brought this one over the line against a strong opponent. It's no coincidence that they are so high in the table and pushing for Europe.
"I saw a lot of top individual performance, Sadio Mane was one of them. He is really difficult to defend against, but in the end we did not make as much of the situations as we could have."
On the Manchester derby: "Of course we are interested in it, but we have no influence on it. We have to win the games we play. Those we do not play in we have no hand in it. Why we don't think about it or talk about it, we just try to win our games."
There's no doubt about my favourite Premier League moment of the day.
When Christian Eriksen fouled Brandon Williams, who looked angry and ready to fight...
until he saw it was Eriksen who'd brought him down so he gave him a hug instead.
A couple of games at the top in Spain and France tonight - Real Madrid v Real Sociedad and Nice v PSG.
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
Liverpool
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to BBC Match of the Day: “It was always going to be a tough game. West Ham are a good team and made life difficult.
“We were prepared for that. It was tough but I’m pleased with the way we reacted.
“We got a clean sheet, which is important and got the three points which is the main thing.
Lanzini had great chance, but we had chances as well in first half. So there were chances at both ends. We dominated the ball for large parts and towards the end we had to grind it out."
On Luis Diaz’s performance: “He’s hit the ground running. He’s been fantastic. He was immense in the [Carabao Cup] final and again today brilliant.
"He’s fit straight in, pressing and winning the ball high up the pitch.”
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
West Ham have lost five of their last nine Premier League away games (W2 D2), as many as in their previous 23 (W13 D5).

Olasusi Ayomide: What kind of selfish football were Liverpool's forwards involved in tonight? Mane, Salah and Diaz's gameplay was a head-scratcher. They need to do better. Race for the title continues to tighten.
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
Nine of Sadio Mane’s 12 Premier League goals this season have come in home games. No player has scored more home goals in the competition this term than the Senegal forward.
He has scored more Premier League goals in 24 appearances this season (12) than he managed in 35 last term (11).
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
West Ham manager David Moyes has never won away against Liverpool in 17 attempts in the Premier League (D6 L11).
The only manager to have a worse record against one team? Also Moyes - 18 games without winning at Arsenal.
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
Liverpool have won their last seven Premier League games, their longest such run within a single season since a run of 18 between October and February in their 2019-20 title-winning campaign.
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
Liverpool
Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold speaking to Sky Sports: "Both me and Andy (Robertson) tried to get forward when we had the chance, but to keep a clean sheet was our aim.
"We have been able to do that over the last few weeks. Being able to clear one off the line was great as it helped us keep that clean sheet.
"Look at the Burnley game, when we also got a 1-0 win. It's great to win by a big margin but these are the ones that matter. It doesn't matter how you do it, you have to get the job done."
On reaching 16 assists for the season: "I try to contribute as much as I can to the team. We all want to help win games for the team and I am happy to be able to continue."
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
Liverpool
Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson speaking to Sky Sports: "West Ham played a good game but we defended well, put bodies on the line and got the three points.
"Set pieces have been a threat. It was never going to be easy but once we got the goal it was important to keep the clean sheet. Now we need more. We need to keep going.
"Thery are trying to get into European football so we had to help out our centre-backs and we were brave with it.
"Any game you play for this club is special, 200 starts is an amazing thing to do so. Hopefully I can now look forward to 201 but one day when I am older I will look back at what an acheivement it is.
"We have a huge game against Inter Milan on Tuesday, but I'm sure the game [Manchester derby] is going to be on on the background."
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
Liverpool are unbeaten in 18 Premier League home fixtures and have won each of their last nine.
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
Liverpool have won 600 Premier League games.
Manchester United (700), Chelsea (612) and Arsenal (611) are the only teams to beat them to that landmark.
