That's as far as we go here this evening on a night that saw Huddersfield Town climb up to second in the Championship table as they stretched their unbeaten run to 18 games.

They cruised to a comprehensive win over a Peterborough side who look destined for relegation.

Third-placed Bournemouth do have FIVE games in hand on the Terriers admittedly but... all about points isn't it?

Sheffield United looked set to go fifth with victory over Nottingham Forest but Ryan Yates levelled for the Reds with a last-minute header.

In League Two, Mansfield beat Exeter City 2-1 to go third.

We'll be back at 12:15 GMT tomorrow for a bumper day of EFL action, starting with Championship leaders Fulham against play-off hopefuls Blackburn.

Hope you can join us then and thanks for your company this evening.

    Cheers!

It would have been a travesty to have come away here without anything. Phenomenal spirit, phenomenal work rate.

It's going to take time for Grant McCann. He needs to dissect everything and see what's going wrong.

He's got a lot to work on, it's not just one thing. He has a big job on his hands.

    Mansfield 2-1 Exeter

A big win for Mansfield in the League Two promotion race, which takes them third in the table this evening.

Goals in either half from Farrend Rawson and Matty Longstaff saw Nigel Clough's side secure a 10th successive home win, equaling a club record set in 1949.

Matt Jay grabbed a late consolation for the Exeter.

It was a big game, a lot at stake, two teams not wanting to lose the game.

But they are two good teams in this division and I'm sure they will both take a point.

There are 12 games left in the race for the play-offs. It's going to be intense.

    And breathe.

Billy Sharp's header looked like it was going to be enough to send Sheffield United fifth but Ryan Yates powered home a header in the last minute of time added on.

These two play-off hopefuls went toe-to-toe tonight.

It's always the fear. Players are thinking about the win, but it's about grabbing your man and see it through.

To be fair, it's a great header but disappointing for Sheffield United.

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:39 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2022

    Huddersfield 3-0 Peterborough

There's the final whistle at the John Smith's Stadium to bring another miserable away trip to an end for Peterborough.

It's a 16th defeat in 18 Championship away games for rock-bottom Posh, who remain eight points from safety.

Huddersfield, of course, have their sights set on exiting the division at the opposite end as Daniel Sinani's classy curler and Tom Lees' brace of headers move the Terriers up to second.

Bournemouth do enjoy five games in hand on Huddersfield - but it would take a brave man to bet against the Terriers given their are now unbeaten in 18 Championship matches.

    Ryan Yates (90+5 mins)

    REMARKABLE!

Just when it looked like time had run out for Forest, James Garner sends in a corner that Ryan Yates steams in to head it into the far corner.

Forest win a late, late corner.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2022

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Daniel Jebbison lashes a shot that Forest goalkeeper Ethan Horvath beats away at his near post.

Moments later Oli McBurnie is booked for some very unsubtle timewasting.

It's about finding a way to win. Not every team is going to play well, or sometimes things won't go to plan. But good teams find ways to win.

    Huddersfield 3-0 Peterborough

Three minutes to be added on in Huddersfield, where double goalscorer Tom Lees has just, unsurprisingly, been announced as the Terriers' man of the match to loud applause.

  14. Postpublished at 21:35 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2022

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Nott'm Forest

    Ouch.

The Blades counter rapidly after clearing the Forest corner but, with a two on one, Daniel Jebbison totally overhits his attempted pass for Morgan Gibbs-White.

Into five minutes of time added on now.

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Jack Colback whips a dangerous free-kick across the face of goal, after Rhys Norrington Davies had been booked for a foul on Djed Spence, that nobody can quite get on the end of.

Blades keeper Wes Foderingham flicked it on its way and took a bang for his troubles.

Forest bring on Joe Lolley for Jack Colback

  16. Postpublished at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2022

    Huddersfield 3-0 Peterborough

Huddersfield just ticking away the seconds and minutes now with some tidy keep-ball.

They will go second in the table with this win although third-placed Bournemouth are just a point behind and have five games in hand.

Regardless, the Terriers, who will be unbeaten in 16 Championship matches at the end of this one, can rightfully dream of a return to the Premier League given the form they are in.

    Billy SharpImage source, Rex Features

Blades goalscorer Billy Sharp makes way.

He's worked so hard for his team tonight and got his rewards with a great header. The veteran is in fine fettle this season.

Oli McBurnie, who is yet to score a league goal this season, is on.

Meanwhile, Forest take off Philip Zinckernagel and bring on Alex Mighten.

They've really run out of steam and ideas since the Blades took the lead.

Can they fashion one more chance?

  18. Postpublished at 21:25 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2022

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Ten minutes for Nottingham Forest to find an equaliser.

Did not think I would find myself typing that from the way the first 65 minutes of this game went.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2022

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Nottingham Forest go to their bench and Sam Surridge is on for Scott McKenna.

    That's a centre-back off for a striker.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:23 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2022

    Huddersfield 3-0 Peterborough

Lewis O'Brien comes off for Huddersfield, replaced by Jordan Rhodes.

That's the Terriers' third and final change as Chelsea loanee Tino Anjorin came on for his debut a few minutes before Tom Lees made it 3-0, replacing Duane Holmes.

Posh, meanwhile, sniff the possibility of a consolation but Jack Marriott's effort is blocked by a defender.
