There's also a bit of history between the sides in action at the John Smith's this evening.

Peterborough thumped Huddersfield 3-0 in the 2011 League One play-off final to consign the Terriers to another season in the third tier.

Two seasons later Town got revenge of sorts when they sent Posh down after drawing 2-2 with fellow strugglers Barnsley on the Championship's final day.

Unbelievably Peterborough were relegated with a whopping 54 points that campaign.

Grant McCann, who has recently returned for a second spell in charge after Darren Ferguson resigned from his own third stint as Posh boss, will be all-too aware that defeat tonight will leave their chances of avoiding relegation back to League One looking very slim indeed.

There are of course no such concerns for Huddersfield who are unbeaten in 17 matches and could yet end this season celebrating promotion back to the Premier League.

For football fans of a certain vintage this game will bring back memories of when these two sides were going head-to-head to try and reach the promised land of the Premiership back in the early noughties.

A remarkable play-off semi-final second-leg between the pair at Bramall Lane finished 4-3 to the home side back in 2003.

Both teams will be hoping to be involved in the end of season fireworks again this season and I think I speak for all neutrals when I say another 4-3 (either way) would be very welcome tonight!

    Sheff Utd v Nott'm Forest (19:45 GMT)

Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom makes five changes from the team that lost at Millwall on Saturday. Wolves loanee Morgan Gibbs-White is one of four players recalled, while there's a full league debut for 19-year-old Femi Seriki.

Nottingham Forest make one alteration from their win over Bristol City. Max Lowe is ineligible against his parent club so Ryan Yates is restored to the XI.

    Huddersfield v Peterborough (19:45 GMT)

Huddersfield Town make three changes from the side that started their 2-0 win at Birmingham City/Small Heath Alliance. Tom Lees, Danel Sinani and Danny Ward are all back in.

Peterborough, who battled well in their defeat by Premier League Manchester City in the FA Cup on Tuesday, defender Frankie Kent misses out with a viral infection.

Slightly unusually we've got two Championship matches for you to kickstart your weekend this Friday evening and both of them could have a real impact on the race for the Premier League.

Third-placed Huddersfield Town will go second (albeit having played FIVE more games than Bournemouth) if they can beat lowly Peterborough.

Crossing from West to South Yorkshire, Sheffield United host Nottingham Forest with both teams knowing a win will see them head to bed this evening in the top six.

And, if that wasn't enough, there's also a clash between promotion-chasing Mansfield and Exeter City in League Two.

    Let's get going.
