Sheffield United just racking up a few chances at Bloomfield Road.

Billy Sharp has slipped an effort just wide, while Sander Berge followed suit.

Blackpool striker Gary Madine, who has played for both United and Wednesday, went down injured early on but is back up and running now.

    Nott'm Forest 0-0 QPR

    How have QPR not scored?

Another fine break down the right sees QPR into space, but Luke Amos can't turn in the cross from Andre Gray and the effort at the back-post from Lee Wallace was kept out by Ethan Horvath.

    Really got away with that.

    Millwall 0-0 Huddersfield

The away side have really taken this game by the scruff of the neck, no cagey start here.

Lewis O'Brien picks the ball up in midfield and lashes a left-foot shot from distance but the dependable Batosz Bialkowski in the Millwall goal turns the ball behind.

Duane Holmes' effort from the resulting corner doesn't threaten the Millwall goal.

    Peterborough 0-0 Swansea

The home side have made a bright start with a couple of early breaks against Swansea as they look to find a win that would lift them off the bottom of the table.

Sammie Szmodics went for an acrobatic diving header but the effort flew over the crossbar.

Luton hit the front at Kenilworth Road, and it's Luke Berry who rolls them ahead against Preston.

It was a curling cross from the right by James Bree that Elijah Adebayo mishits, but it falls perfectly to Berry who tucked it in.

Great chance for the Rs, as Chris Willock powered into space with the ball and slid in Andre Gray, whose shot rolled just wide.

The flag had gone up, so it wouldn't have counted, but it's a warning sign for Forest that Rangers aren't here to become another tick in the win column.

    Nott'm Forest 0-0 QPR

Lively start from QPR, whose boss Mark Warburton was at Forest previously.

The Rs have got on the front foot, trying to get in behind with quick work down the flanks.

Moses Odubajo earned a corner with a raid down the right but the set-piece was smothered by Forest keeper Ethan Horvath.

He released Djed Spence with a quick bowl out, and his pace took him forward before a key tackle brought the Forest move to an end.

    Millwall 0-0 Huddersfield

Huddersfield make a bright start at the Den, winning an early corner against Millwall.

Sorba Thomas whips the ball in but Mason Bennett gets the ball away at the near post.

This could be an intriguing match between two teams who don't often lose.

Hull City open the scoring in Coventry and it's a goal that Simon Moore won't want to relive.

Ryan Longman linked up with George Honeyman down the right, and a clever reverse ball into the box released skipper Richie Smallwood.

His shot was well-hit but seemed to go straight through Moore. Hull strike first, and puncture the optimism.

West Brom players celebrate Callum Robinson's winner against FulhamImage source, Getty Images

Here's a quick recap of the headlines from Tuesday's five Championship games, just before we get underway across the board tonight.

West Bromwich Albion brought an end to Fulham's 13 league-game winning run with a deserved 1-0 win at the Hawthorns, Callum Robinson's 64th-minute enough to seal all three points for the Baggies.

Blackburn recovered from their defeat against Bristol City at the weekend to beat struggling Derby County 3-1 at Ewood Park and keep their automatic promotion hopes alive.

Barnsley continued their mini-revival with a 2-0 win against Bristol City, which moved them within two points of safety. The Tykes have now gone three games unbeaten and have lost just two of their last eight games.

Middlesbrough returned to the play-off places with a 2-0 victory away at Birmingham City, while second-placed Bournemouth drew 1-1 with out-of-form Reading.

Paul Heckingbottom has enjoyed a fairly blissful honeymoon period in charge of Sheffield United for the most part although Saturday's 4-1 gubbing by Coventry rather brought a dose of reality.

The Blades go to Blackpool, who will be keen to ensure it's a miserable Pennine-crossing night at the seaside as their boss Neil Critchley marks his 100th game in charge.

Having cut down those Steel City challengers in impressive fashion, Coventry are again back on home turf to face Hull City - with the Sky Blues being led by under-23 head coach Luke Tisdale, external as boss Mark Robins and coaches Dennis Lawrence and Aled Williams have Covid.

While the Sky Blues have eyes on the play-offs, the Tigers are just keen to stick about in the Championship again next season - and will have to improve on their one-win-in-nine record to do it.

Luton's push for the top six was hampered by their weekend defeat by QPR, although four wins from the last six is decent enough form with Preston North End in town.

And, last but not least, Cardiff hosting Stoke is normally an interesting affair for many reasons. Tonight, mainly for a Bluebirds side hoping to meet the rarefied air of midtable and a Potters bunch just trying to arrest their slide.

    Millwall v Huddersfield (19:45 GMT)

It's a battle between two of the Championship's form sides at the Den as Millwall host high-flying Huddersfield.

The Lions are unbeaten in seven matches, having won five in a row before consecutive 0-0 draws against Blackburn and Middlesbrough.

Huddersfield haven't lost a league match since November and are three points behind second-placed Bournemouth as they bid for automatic promotion and a return to the Premier League.

The hosts are five points off a play-off spot, in 11th place, and have a game in hand over sixth-placed Middlesbrough as they continue their late charge up the table.

Huddersfield have won three of their last four matches at Millwall, with the Lions losing seven of the last 10 league games between the two.

  14. Rs winter form keeps them in the huntpublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2022

    Nott'm Forest v QPR (19:45 GMT)

QPR warm upImage source, Getty Images

If ever there was a team that has benefitted from the hard work put in over the tough months of November, December and January, then it is QPR this season.

When the nights were long and the temperatures very low, the Rs kept toughing out results. Between defeat by West Brom in September and a slump at Barnsley in mid-Feb, they won 12 of 20 league games.

They've only won two of the past six, but still remarkably remain fifth after their weekend win over challengers Luton.

However, fellow promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest are a classic bogey team for the lads from Loftus Road. The Reds have lost just one of 32 home league games going back over the years.

Despite making the FA Cup quarter-finals, Forest have been galvanised rather than overwhelmed by their adventures. Only Cardiff, with their late January win, have taken all three points off them in 2022.

By the looks of it tonight, the Trent has flowed it way into the ground. Soggy is the word.

  15. Posh look to end dismal winless runpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2022

    Peterborough v Swansea (19:45 GMT)

    London RoadImage source, Rex Features

Bottom-of-the-table Peterborough have a chance to put an end to their miserable run as they host Swansea.

The Posh are without a win in 15 games in all competitions and have fallen to the foot of the Championship table, below Derby County despite their 21-points deduction, and are seven points from safety.

The visitors have lost their past two matches, against runaway leaders Fulham and Blackpool, and sit 16th in the table on 44 points.

Peterborough's record in this fixture won't give fans much hope - they're winless in their last nine league games against the Swans with their last victory coming in 1998, courtesy of a Miguel de Souza goal in a 1-0 win.

They've also won just once in their last 14 midweek league games, while Swansea have lost their last three midweek games in a row.

    Championship bottom-six

    Bottom six in Champ

Peterborough United remain rooted to the foot of the Championship but with two games in hand on Derby and one apiece on Barnsley and Reading, tonight's game takes on extra significance.

Swansea, their opponents tonight, are just above the relegation fray but back-to-back defeats against Fulham - a real pasting - and then Blackpool, have dented their upturn.

Hull could do with points too, just to keep themselves a little breathing space as well. They're at Coventry.

We'll run the rule on the big games and the rest of the action between now and kick-off.

    Championship play-off race

Third down to eighth in the Championship table with just six points difference

The race for the Championship is a bit like a town centre multi-storey car park on a Saturday afternoon - queuing out the entrance for a space with more cars than spots.

Hence Huddersfield up in third, can't really rest on their laurels at all as the chasing pack stretches down as far as Preston in 14th who, with 27 points to play for, are just eight points behind Middlesbrough in sixth.

I mean, the top eight doesn't even include Nottingham Forest, who are one of the in-form sides that really fancy their chances of busting into the promotion picture.
