    Leicester 0-0 Chelsea

    Chelsea

With Arsenal's game with Tottenham yesterday being postponed, Chelsea now have the chance to leapfrog the Gunners at the top of the table.

"We've been here so many times," said manager Emma Hayes. "The focus for us is winning the league, today's about winning the game and that's all we can worry about.

"I'm interested in the performance. I want to see us keep improving as a team and I'll be looking at things we've been working on in training this week and see if we can execute today."

It is a great opportunity for Chelsea [to go top of the WSL for the first time this season]; they'll relish it. Their players are used to winning things. They'll know they have to win today. It would set up an exciting end of the season. Everybody will be calm and composed; I'm expecting a comfortable performance today.

  4. The pressure's on Chelsea - Bedfordpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 27 March 2022

    Leicester v Chelsea (15:00 BST)

    Leicester City

Chelsea beat Leicester 7-0 when they last met in the fifth round of the Women's FA Cup last month and Leicester have lost both games since - at Manchester United and Everton.

But boss Lydia Bedford told Sky Sports they'll be playing with a high press again today, while Chelsea can replace Arsenal at the top of the table.

She said: "Expect our approach to be reasonably similar to the last few games. Four weeks ago when we played Chelsea, we felt we started the game really well and hope to be able to show that style of football again today.

"Even when it's 0-0, Chelsea can grind out a result in the final moments, so we expect today to be a tough test but the pressure's on them because they'll want to walk away with the points," Bedford added.

"[I'll say to the players] be brave, enjoy this great stadium, and go and show everybody what kind of football we want to play."

    FT: Man Utd 3-1 Everton

    Manchester United

Manchester United goalscorer Alessia Russo tells Sky Sports: "What a day. Three points was on the agenda and doing that was amazing. The two headers was a bonus. To play in front of all our friends and family was really special.

"We knew Everton are a top side and pose a threat going forward. We knew we had to be resilient and we rode the game out well. We are happy to take the three points and go into next weekend.

"All we have to focus on is taking points from all the games left. We want to score all the goals we can and we pride ourselves on clean sheets."

The Women's Super League season is edging closer to the finish line and there is still plenty to play for.

Chelsea are bidding to win a third successive league title but are playing catch-up on leaders Arsenal, who have just five games remaining.

While those two teams battle for top spot, the race for the third and final Champions League qualification place is heating up with both Manchester clubs going head-to-head.

Birmingham City look set for relegation but will there be any more twists to come before the season ends?

Comprehensive win for Manchester United. Everton started really well, got that goal and played good football. But they were constantly on the attack, they never really thought about game management, which ate into their fatigue. Once Man Utd got that first goal, you knew what would happen.
