A fantastic trick and driving run from Sorba Thomas, but I think he got caught between shooting and crossing.

Sorba Thomas has dropped a bit deeper to create a bit of space for Huddersfield and having weaved into the Forest half, pings a pass which is too heavy for Danny Ward to chase.

The Wales winger then gallops down the left into space, with Forest backpedalling and whistles a fierce cross in.

Brice Samba beats away rather than clearing but Forest do enough to force a throw.

The Manchester United loanee has not wasted a pass at the heart of the Forest midfield as they probe for an opener.

Given United's relative struggles this season I wonder if he might be involved in Erik Ten Hag's plans for the Red Devils next season?

Crucial block in the Huddersfield box as Philip Zinckernagel sought to bend one into the far corner from the left edge of the area.

Forest denied.

Then Lee Nicholls has to race out of goal to deal with a Forest raid at the expense of a throw.

Town under the pump a bit but Carlos Corberan has them well-drilled.

Djed Spence steals the ball in midfield and races forward but his cross is blocked.

Forest keep the pressure on, Scott McKenna gets a bit giddy in the atmosphere and has a crack from 25 yards.

It's easily cleared. Can't knock him for trying.

Both sides surrendering possession in midfield a little cheaply, as a bit of scrappiness starts to set in.

Forest's Jack Colback steams into Lewis O'Brien, wrapping the arms in textbook rugby tackle fashion as he takes him high.

Free-kick Huddersfield. O'Brien laughs it off, but he's taken a few whacks.

Philip Zinckernagel gets a warning from Jon Moss, who is content to keep his cards in his pocket while rebuking the Dane.

He hacked down Lewis O'Brien in full flight.

Paul Lummis: With Man Utd in the market for a new RB they could do worse than looking at Djed Spence - he would represent a major upgrade on Aaron Wan-Bissaka, for a fraction of the cost.

This certainly isn't a bad shop window for Spence, who, let's remember, is on loan at Forest from Middlesbrough...

Lewis O'Brien streaks through midfield, on a rare foray for this afternoon at least, and pushes out to Sorba Thomas as he arrives at the Forest penalty area.

Thomas looks to take Joe Worrall on the outside, but the defender stands him up and blocks the cross.

Djed Spence nips in to help tidy up.

Ryan Yates gets carried away on the edge of the box, could see his name in lights, and rashly crashes a shot wildly over the top of the crossbar for Forest.

He had so much support flooding forward too.

Wasted chance for Forest, but it counts as a chance.

Huddersfield strike next, looking to release Danny Ward through the middle with a searching ball but Steve Cook sidles across to hook away.

Forest fans look to antagonise their opposite number.

Huddersfield don't clear their lines sufficiently and Forest retain possession in midfield.

Eventually the Terriers squeeze up, forcing Forest.

Keinan Davis was given the nod ahead of Sam Surridge for this one but hasn't quite got to grips with the game yet.

He has all the raw materials should he get his game head on.

The massed Forest ranks to my right all thought that Ryan Yates header was bound for the back of the net and I think a few actually initially thought it had gone in.

Huddersfield can ill-afford to leave a player with space like that in the area.

The Reds are starting to get on top here a little bit and Terriers goalkeeper Lee Nicholls has just spent an age over a restart to just let his team reset.

Naby Sarr has to be alert for Huddersfield in the box, clearing from right in front of his own goal with Keinan Davis lurking.

Forest are starting to turn the screw in terms of possession and territory.
