Three matches between the sides so far. One win for the Honest Men, two for Kilmarnock.

These two sides last met just over a month ago, with Ayr running out winners.

It was a topsy-turvy match, though. Fraser Murray opened the scoring at Rugby Park before James Maxwell equalised in the 14th minute.

Ten minutes from time, Patrick Reading sent the away fans into delirium when he drove an effort into the bottom corner - giving United their first league win in the Derby since 1992.

    Ayr United v Kilmarnock (19:45)

United boss Lee Bullen sticks with the exact same XI that demolished Raith Rovers 4-0 last weekend and, honestly, why wouldn't you?

Meanwhile, opposite number Derek McInnes makes two changes. Firstly, he welcomes back club captain Chris Stokes into defence in place of Euan Murray, who captained Killie to a 2-0 win over Hamilton Accies last Saturday. The latter misses out completely.

The Championship Player of the Month for February, striker Kyle Lafferty, also comes back in, with winger Chris Burke dropping to the bench.

  5. Good eveningpublished at 19:15 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2022

Ayr United v Kilmarnock (19:45 GMT)

Welcome to the fourth and final Ayrshire derby of the season - and possibly the most important so far.

With a win this evening, Kilmarnock could head to the top of the table, leapfrogging Arbroath - for a night, at least.

But it'll be far from an easy task for Derek McInnes' men. Ayr United are the other form side in the league and both taken 10 points from their last five games.

A win for the hosts, meanwhile, would see them move nine points clear of ninth spot - the relegation play-off spot.
