  1. 'Dundee must be ready to work hard' - Ruskpublished at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2022

    Dundee v Rangers (16:00)

Dundee assistant manager Simon Rusk tells BBC Radio Scotland his side are not dwelling on their midweek defeat to St Mirren.

"We don't underestimate the size of the task, but we have to believe, and we have that belief," said. "You need to be all of the things that you need to be in all games - organised, ready to work hard and then you have to enjoy your moments on the ball and hope you can turn the marginal moments your way.

"We have to establish our work rate and desire levels, there are aspects of the games that need to be better but we are seeing those changes in recent games and that's encouraging, we could've nicked something in our last few games."

This is Aaron Ramsey's fifth Rangers appearance, having had late cameos against Hearts and Hibs in the league at Ibrox.

His first start was in the cup win at Annan and he got a few minutes in the Europa League draw at home to Borussia Dortmund on 17 February.

  3. Alexander says Motherwell 'deserved more'published at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2022

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 Hibernian

Motherwell boss Graham Alexander believes Hibs players influenced Willie Collum's red-card decision after Bevis Mugabi was sent off just 55 seconds into today's early kick-off.

"The supporters were with us the whole game though, even when things were conspiring against us," he told BBC Scotland. "I’m devastated for the players because they deserved more today.

"It’s a tough tackle. I thought the reaction of the opposition, manhandling the referee, didn’t help the situation. There’s no warning."

On Jordan Roberts' very similar challenge a few minutes later, he added: "I can’t remember the tackle. I can remember their goalkeeper elbowing Ricki Lamie in the stomach. I remember their striker putting an arm in Ricki Lamie’s face."

  4. Managers have fond Scottish Cup memoriespublished at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2022

    Dundee v Rangers (16:00)

Mark McGhee and Giovanni Van Bronckhorst are in search of their first Scottish Cup as managers, but it's a trophy both men are more than familiar with.

McGhee won three-in-a-row as an Aberdeen player in 1982, 1983 and 1984, before doing it again with Celtic in 1988 and 1989.

Ten years later, and it was Van Bronckhorst celebrating back-to-back wins as a Rangers player in 1999 and 2000.

  5. McLaughlin thwarts Dundee on Rangers' last trip to Denspublished at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2022

    Dundee v Rangers (16:00)

It was far from comfortable for Rangers on their last visit to Dens Park, when a Joe Aribo goal was enough to take maximum points in September.

Jon McLaughlin saved a second-half penalty from Jason Cummings that day.

It was altogether easier at Ibrox in December, with Aribo again on target, along with Alfredo Morelos and a Ryan Sweeney own goal.

  7. Ramsey starts as Rangers rest McGregorpublished at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2022

    Dundee v Rangers (16:00)

Aaron Ramsey makes only his second start for Rangers since joining on loan from Juventus.

His inclusion is one of four changes following Thursday's 3-0 first-leg win against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League last 16.

Jon McLaughlin takes over from Allan McGregor in goal with Filip Helander replacing Leon Balogun in defence and James Sands taking John Lundstram's place in midfield. Ramsey is in for Joe Aribo in attack.

Neither Aribo nor Lundstram make the bench.

Dundee make three changes following their 1-0 loss to St Mirren.

Lee Ashcroft, who pulled up in the warm-up last time, replaces Zeno Ibsen Rossi in defence while, further up the park, Paul McGowan and Danny Mullen come in for Declan McDaid and Luke McCowan.

  9. McGhee watching from homepublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2022

    Dundee v Rangers (16:00)

Dundee boss Mark McGhee missed a painful midweek defeat to St Mirren after testing positive for Covid and the 63-year-old is absent again today.

Assistant Simon Rusk is in charge for this one, having been in regular contact with his gaffer.

After this match, McGhee will have served his six-match touchline incurred while in charge at Motherwell in 2017, so he should be in the Dens Park dugout for the first time when Rangers come calling again on league duty next week.

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 Hibernian

Hibernian manager Shaun Maloney tells BBC Scotland his team are "hungry for more".

"The performance was very good, very professional," he says. "It's never easy against 10 men, Motherwell still had a counter-attack threat, but I was super happy with the performance.

On Bevis Mugabi's red card he added: "I've only seen it from the wide angle and it didn't look great and their weren't too many arguments, but these things happen."

Maloney goes on: "This has to be something to build on, it's not the time to stop. Performances have been very good for quite a few weeks now so I'm very happy with the players, for them to get to Hampden again as a very young team is a great achievement, but we need to keep pushing. We have to keep trying for top six, we want more.

"The fans were incredible, it's inspiring. I hope I give them many more memories like today."

They've lost the last two finals in Scottish football. Is it time for Shaun Maloney's side to go one better?
