Thank you for your company this evening.

Celtic beat Dundee United 3-0 to reach the Scottish Cup semi-final, where they will face arch rivals Rangers.

  2. Courts: 'I feel like the player's commitment tonight is a step towards something'published at 22:09 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2022

    FT: Dundee United 0-3 Celtic

Dundee United manager Tam Courts tells BBC Scotland: “In terms of attitude, application, work rate and commitment to the game plan it was evident that the players were fully on board and trying to deliver that to the best of their abilities.

“I think the frustrations for me are on two fronts; from an attacking perspective we have a couple of good moments we could have capitalised on and worked the Celtic goalkeeper more. The goals we lost were out of character for us too, so that is annoying.

“We stuck to the task but probably just didn't work the goalkeeper enough and we didn't give out home fans — who I thought were tremendous throughout — anything to shout about and make a real game of it.

“I’m proud of the players in terms of their attitude and I do feel like their commitment tonight is a step towards something. We now go into three huge games for this football club in order to try and push onto a top-six team and that’s all we’ve got to focus on just now."

  3. 'Rangers should be a cracking game'published at 22:02 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2022

    FT: Dundee United 0-3 Celtic

Celtic manager Ange Posteoglou tells BBC Scotland that being in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup is the most important thing, not the fact it sets up an Old Firm clash at Hampden.

“We’re in it, that's the main thing and playing Rangers should be a cracking game," he said.

"The semi-final was the prize on offer and it would be a massive game irrespective of who you're playing.

"I thought we were in control the whole game. It was not an easy pitch to play on, you could tell the boys were struggling at times cause it was bobbling about.

"The boys are having to look at the ball right onto their boot with the pitch which takes the edge off it sometimes.

"We didn't really give them any opportunities to really get near our goal. We scored three goals away from home and I thought we handled the atmosphere well.

"We had some bright moments, a goal disallowed and some balls into the box we could have done better with.

"Away from home, a 3-0 win in a knock-out game is pretty comprehensive."

Marc Breen (Celtic fan): Rangers in the semi-final would be awesome. Then Hibs in the final.

Alan Strevens (Hearts fan): We always beat Hibs at Hampden but I'm worried our luck will run out. Bring on Rangers.

Celtic were never out of second gear. I couldn't believe the number of times United gave it back to them in their final third, it happened all evening. I was expecting to see a real tough, high-tempo, entertaining match but we just saw an error-strewn game of football.

I think Callum McGregor was the best player on the pitch. He controlled it well for Celtic, he was always looking for the ball.

  12. FULL-TIME Dundee United 0-3 Celticpublished at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2022

It was billed as a tough one for Celtic, but in the end it was a fairly routine win for Ange Postecoglou's side who strolled it without ever getting into top gear.

Dundee United were the architects of their own downfall. Marc McNulty helped direct Callum McGregor's shot into the net, Benjamin Siegrst spilled an easy cross for Giorgos Giakoumakis to score his first, and the Greek made it 3-0 late on.

I think he maybe just got a touch — all forwards will claim for it though. Young Karamoko Dembele made that goal though. Celtic have shown bits of quality and they are well worth their win tonight.

Dundee United don't look likely to do something dramatic. We're at the 84th minute mark and they have yet to have a shot on target.

Celtic look to have the more urgency in their play with a few fringe players now trying their best to impress manager Ange Postecoglou.
