Blackpool's recent form will have soothed boss Neil Critchley, as they look set for a comfortable mid-table-to-top-half finish to their first season back in the Championship since 2015.

They were unfortunate to lose at QPR but responded brilliantly with wins over Reading, Stoke and Swansea before drawing with Sheffield United.

Josh Bowler's excellent form has caught the attentions of would-be suitors, including today's opponents if paper chat is to be believed, while at the other end Dan Grimshaw has conceded a miserly 23 goals in 24 games.

In League One, Wigan have a great chance to continue their yo-yoing existence between second and third tier with promotion this term, and a win today against Bolton would put them top - with leaders Rotherham engaged in EFL Trophy final action tomorrow.

The Trotters though will see this derby as a time to step up. Promotion realistically looks beyond them. But mathematically it's still a possibility. It ain't over yet.

    Blackpool v Nott'm Forest (12:30 BST)

It all leads us nicely onto our early games on another jam-packed Saturday of EFL action.

In the Championship we head to Blackpool, safe in mid-table, might still have time for a crack at promotion lying just nine points off the top six.

However, it's a tall order with the amount of competition for those precious spots but they've found form.

Their opponents this lunchtime, Nottingham Forest have been waiting a long time for a shot at the big-time. The last time they were in the Premier League I was still doing my A-levels.

Hope springs with genuine promise though at the City Ground, but they've still got 10 games to play given their FA Cup heroics, so time is finite to cram their end-of-season workload in.

Time. There is only one thing more precious in football than time and that is points.

Time on the ball, time to regroup, time to think. Time to sort yourself out.

Here we are in British Summer Time with the clocks having gone forward and suddenly, there doesn't seem so much time, does there?

We're into April. No avoiding the league table now. No falling back on future fixtures. It's the here and now.

    Time to deliver.
