    Blackpool 0-2 Nott'm Forest

Blackpool have come out swinging again.

Kenny Dougall gets space on the edge of the box and swings a shot toward the top right corner of the goal for the hosts, but Brice Samba shuttles across to save.

Neat build-up, but again it's from distance and favours the keeper.

    Brennan Johnson

    Wallop. Big advantage Forest now.

Great hit from Brennan Johnson, who smashes home a low volley from the right of the box past Dan Grimshaw after slick one-touch football.

Johnson, Djed Spence and Ryan Yates combined to tee up the chance, and took it.

    Ruthless from the Reds.

    Blackpool 0-1 Nott'm Forest

Blackpool squeeze Forest high and force an error from Jack Colback, but with possession, Kevin Stewart can't pick out a teammate.

The Tangerines get it back, Dujon Stewart flashes a fierce cross into the box which zips tantalisingly in front of Jerry Yates, but he can't win a corner when challenged by namesake Ryan.

    Really open, enjoyable game this.

    Blackpool 0-1 Nott'm Forest

Brennan Johnson races into the right channel for Forest and gets beyond James Husband but bundles the ball through to Dan Grimshaw in the box.

Phew. It's relentless this. End to end and plenty going on.

    Blackpool nearly catch Forest out!

Long ball forward by Blackpool from James Husband is looped back by Joe Worrall to his goalkeeper Brice Samba, but Jerry Yates nips in and pinches it.

Tobias Figueiredo gallops across and sweeps up the danger, but that was a chance.

    Blackpool 0-1 Nott'm Forest

Both sides trying to play, but the midfield is real hurly-burly stuff at the moment.

Barely a second to think as the next challenge comes sweeping in.

Forest have used Keinan Davis well, he's the type of dominant, powerhouse forward that Marlon Harewood used to be.

Blackpool have done a good job of marshalling him for the most part. They've also done a good job on the marauding Djed Spence through James Husband.

    Wigan 1-0 Bolton

Wigan v BoltonImage source, Rex Features

It's been all Wigan so far, as you'd expect from a side in such good form. They've only lost twice in the league since October.

Bolton's season has really tailed off in recent weeks and their play-off chances are all but over.

    Blackpool 0-1 Nott'm Forest

Dan Grimshaw comes out to the edge of his six yard box and punches defiantly away as Joe Worrall helps James Garner's free-kick into the mix.

    Blackpool survive the raid.

Then Jerry Yates gets a swipe across the mush from Forest defender Tobias Figueiredo. Painful, but he's up.

    Blackpool 0-1 Nott'm Forest

Scott McKenna is limping about at the back. Not a good sign for Forest as he's only just been rushed back from injury.

Blackpool's set-piece is rolled near post but it's not great, nor is Joe Worrall's clearance.

James Husband wriggles to the byline and cuts back, the Seasiders recycle and a smart cross into Gary Madine is headed down but Brice Samba sinks low to save.

    Blackpool 0-1 Nott'm Forest

Forest almost get in at the back, as Brennan Johnson blocks a clearance and retrieves the ball on the edge of the Blackpool box with Dan Grimshaw out of position, but Keinan Davis has it pinched off his toe as he prepares to shoot.

    Disappointing finish for Forest.

Good response from Blackpool, as Josh Bowler finds the long legs of Dujon Sterling and he drives forward.

His cross squirts to Josh Bowler whose shot is blocked in visibly painful fashion by Scott McKenna, and James Husband's flashing drive just over gives the home fans hope.

    Philip Zinckernagel

Forest go in front, although it's a huge spoon-up deflection which guides it past Dan Grimshaw in the Blackpool goal.

Brennan Johnson and Ryan Yates created the opportunity, with a rolled cross by the former finding Philip Zinckernagel in the box, and he fires a shot which flicks off Kevin Stewart's heel and in.

Redemption for the Dane, who missed a sitter in the cup versus Liverpool at 0-0.

    Blackpool 0-0 Nott'm Forest

Forest trying to create space by playing the ball about at the back between their three centre-halves, but Blackpool haven't taken the bait, and when they try to get Djed Spence away down the right it's well dealt with.

    James McClean (7 mins)

    BIG goal in League One!

A corner is worked short to James McClean, he bends the ball in with his left foot, it goes through everyone and into the net.

As it stands Wigan are going top of the table.

Interesting I made the point about Jarrad Gillett's card record this season, but he's let quite a bit go so far.

Tackles flying in, players going down. Open flow though.

Djed Spence is back up for Forest and makes a great dart down the right but his cross can't find anyone in the middle.

Jack Colback can't recycle it either and it's time for Blackpool to break through Josh Bowler.

He finds Dujon Sterling for a swinging cross but Forest clear.

    Bit of controversy here.

Djed Spence took a whack in the chops as he touched a ball off to Ryan Yates with Forest on the attack, and the defender stayed down.

Keinan Davis bulldozes his way into the box, Philip Zinckernagel gets lopped down.

Play wasn't stopped though. Forest might feel they should have had a penalty.

    Blackpool 0-0 Nott'm Forest

Lively start from both teams, and a tone-setter from Blackpool to leave Philip Zinckernagel in a heap says this one could be physical.

Really like the dynamic between these teams, Keinan Davis tussling with Marvin Ekpiteta, and likewise Blackpool's Gary Madine up against the three Forest centre-backs.

Here we go then. Really vibrant atmosphere at Bloomfield Road. The home fans are bouncing. Forest's away support equally noisy.

Aussie ref Jarrad Gillett is the man in the middle, and he's sent off four this season.

    Make that 'no-nonsense Aussie'.

    Forest get us going.

They're also under way at the DW Stadium for the big League One derby between Wigan and Bolton.

  20. Forest set to bloom in spring?published at 12:27 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

Nottingham Forest's revival under Steve Cooper continues to steamroll its way into spring, with just one league loss in 2022 propelling the Reds to within three points of the top six with games in hand on their rivals.

While there is obvious optimism and positivity going into the final few games, Forest fans have been burned at this time before - it normally has to be automatic or bust.

Play-off defeats by Yeovil, Swansea and today's opponents Blackpool linger painfully in the mind. And Cooper himself has taken Swansea to the end-of-season shoot-out without getting over the line.

Defeat by Liverpool ended their FA Cup dreams before the international break, but getting the job done between now and May would more than make up for that.
