So, Fulham and Forest get the job done, while West Brom turn up the books with an impressive result against stuttering Bournemouth.

We are back on Saturday with another bumper run of fixtures, starting with the aforementioned Cherries at Sheffield United.

Pick the bones out of that league table.

Still wide open in top six race but Fulham so close now.

They could even win promotion this weekend but need Forest to lose to Birmingham and then beat Coventry on Sunday.

As far as Bournemouth are concerned, they still hold a six-point lead over third-placed Huddersfield and with two games still in hand.

However, only two points further back are Nottingham Forest who have beaten Coventry 2-0 this evening and have now won four in a row.

Promotion is still in the Cherries' hands though.

Those two early goals set the game up for Albion - it gave them something to hold on to.

They invited pressure in the second half but they have got through it.

Andy Carroll set the tone for the side as far as work-rate is concerned.

They have got a 2-0 win over a very good Bournemouth side that will probably go on and win promotion.

All over at The Hawthorns and three points for Steve Bruce's West Brom.

Two goals in four minutes in the first quarter of an hour did the trick for the Baggies - with Alex Mowatt and Andy Carroll on target. No wonder he looks happy.

Now Jayson Molumby tries his luck for the Baggies but his effort arcs away from goal. Two minutes of stoppage time left.

Too many efforts for the Cherries have been speculative and from long range this evening. Sam Johnstone has been untroubled.

There's no hurry now for Albion. They just need to run that seven minutes down.

Seven minutes to be added on and the Albion bench are not impressed.

Just before the board went up, Callum Robinson advanced on goal for the Baggies but his curling shot was too close to Mark Travers.

If West Brom hold on, this will be only their fourth win in 18 Championship games.

That's why their promotion challenge has fallen apart. And yet if they hold on they will have beaten both Fulham and Bournemouth - the top two. Crazy.

Steve Cooper's Forest side continue their remarkable run in the Championship with a big 2-0 win over Coventry.

Goals from Brennan Johnson and James Garner are the difference for the Reds, against a spirited Sky Blues.

It might well be promotion dream over for the visitors though.

Ryan Yates strikes the frame of the goal in injury time, and Forest are so close to a third.

Aleksandar Mitrovic's 38th goal of the season hands Fulham a priceless win over Middlesbrough, in a game where they were tested to the core.

Boro missed a hatful of chances while Mitrovic took his opportunity when he glanced in a Harry Wilson free-kick to settle it.

The Whites march on, for Boro, if they play as committed as this in the remaining games, surely can't be far off the top six.
