Great start for in-form Forest, Brennan Johnson tucking away a Jack Colback pass at the far post.

What a season the Wales man is having.

Lovely cross caught the keeper out. It was stuck against the foot of the post, Johnson had a little drag back and a little chip over the keeper.

A good little spell of pressure from West Brom is rewarded with a goal.

Darnell Furlong's cross is only cleared as far as Alex Mowatt just outside the box, and the midfielder hits his shot into the ground and past the despairing dive of Mark Travers.

It's noticeable than Albion aren't playing a pressing game against Bournemouth.

Every time Bournemouth get the ball, Albion are dropping back.

Coventry put some pressure on Forest, as Callum O'Hare tests out Brice Samba from distance.

    West Brom 0-0 Bournemouth

Nice turn of pace there from Bournemouth left-back Jordan Zemura as he advances on the West Brom goal.

Thankfully for Albion, the quality of the shot doesn't match the run as Sam Johnstone is untroubled.

  6. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 6 April 2022

    West Brom 0-0 Bournemouth

Our final game of the evening is under way, with visitors Bournemouth kicking off.

There are A LOT of empty seats at The Hawthorns. It would appear that Albion's fans have given up any hope of a late play-off push.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Fulham

Aleksandar Mitrovic is handed a gift by Dael Fry, but the Fulham striker drags well wide of the target.

Boro fans let him know they thought of it.

Then Fabio Carvalho wins the ball and tries to play in a teammate but Jonny Howson does well to cover.

Boro break on Fulham and Andraz Sporar darts into the box but Harry Wilson puts it behind for a corner after a tussle with Tosin Adarabioyo.

Early warning signs for Middlesbrough as Fulham get in behind through Harrison Reed.

He makes a sharp run to track a pass and whizzes a cross across goal but there's no one in the six yard box to tuck it away.

  14. Cherries begin fearsome run-inpublished at 19:41 British Summer Time 6 April 2022

West Brom v Bournemouth (20:00 BST)

When Scott Parker looks down the list of the next nine fixtures Bournemouth must play to complete their Championship campaign, there might well be a sharp intake of breath.

Fearsome might be a strong word for a side second in the table, with three wins from four and 21 overall this season, but their end-of-season schedule brings some extremely tough tests: leaders Fulham, in-form Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Blackburn and Millwall all lie in wait.

Therefore, an out-of-sorts West Brom whose promotion challenge likely ended in the damp squib that was Sunday's defeat by Birmingham, is theoretically an ideal opponent.

The Baggies could well be a wounded animal following that lacklustre display in which they failed to muster a shot on target throughout.

Steve Bruce needs a touch of Lazarus to get them firing, but they definitely have the personnel - if fit and selected, Karlan Grant in particular will be one to make the Cherries wary.

    Nott'm Forest v Coventry (19:45 BST)

Perhaps more interesting than any pursuit of success in Europe, and I do include the Champions League here, is the race for the top six in the Championship. Perm any four from about 10 teams. Madness.

I mean, I basically discounted West Brom from the shake-up and they're only eight points off the top six. But, there are five teams above them between those teams just six points, so it's hugely unlikely.

Coventry have been in the mix for much of the season but still find themselves six points off sixth, while their hosts tonight Nottingham Forest are one point behind Middlesbrough who occupy that spot.

Steve Cooper's Reds have lost just once in 2022 and it's that form plus a clutch of games in hand which make them a real contender to break into that special club.

Coventry have just one win in seven which has severely dented their bid, but it only takes a few good results in this league to propel a team into contention again. Is time on their side?

Tonight will be an indicator for both teams.

  16. Boro aim to halt Fulham marchpublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 6 April 2022

Promotion to the Premier League is so close now that Fulham fans can almost picture their side on the opening credits of Match of the Day next season.

They can almost taste the fizzy lager of the elite division's beer sponsors and feel the coffers filling up like a particularly generous episode of Tipping Point with all that extra revenue that having a seat at the top table brings.

But they know their team has still got a job to do to get over the line, and in the immediate, to face a Middlesbrough side that would love to throw a big Teesside spanner in the works.

Marco Silva has already said this is the toughest game his side will face between now and the end of the season, particularly as Chris Wilder's Boro have their own promotion ambitions to tend to.

Home form has been positive for the Teessiders, with 12 wins. However, Fulham have won 12 games away from home, possessing an identical record on their travel to back at the Cottage - and no one has come close to their 47 goals on the road either.

It's that time of the season.

Managers everywhere are shifting awkwardly in their fancy racing car dug-out seats and pacing technical areas like a kid awaiting exam results, as games and points slip by like sand in an hourglass.

The Championship, this ultimate test of footballing stamina, of character and courage, played out over 46 gruelling games from August to May, is winding its way to a close.

Tonight, it's the turn of the front-runners to prove they can set the pace. Fulham and Bournemouth know promotion to the golden ticket of the Premier League is but a few wins away.

Middlesbrough and West Brom would love nothing more than to derail their efforts.

And, another of the sides setting a stride since the turn of the year, Nottingham Forest, know their involvement in the end-of-season shake-up can be made or broken on nights like tonight.

Coventry's similar hopes, albeit fading, will be tested at the City Ground.
