Their all round intensity was raised because they put them on the back foot. Let's put balls in the box and let's see how they deal with that. You build pressure by putting balls in the box.

Parrott's magnificent strike is pretty much the last kick of the game.

The full-time whistle goes and the Republic extend their unbeaten run to eight games with a narrow victory.

Scott Hogan latches onto a long ball over the top of the Lithuania defence and slots home, but the linesman's flag is up before the ball hits the back of the net. Hogan was just offside.

Where does that last 10 mins come from? Where was that through the game? You can't do it for the full 90 minutes, but we had momentum, put them under pressure and that is what is frustrating for Northern Ireland.

Dziugas Bartkus redeems himself.

Troy Parrott turns inside the box and fires towards the top corner, but Bartkus gets his fingertips to the shot. Tremendous save.

Lavery mishits an effort wide from the edge of the area. That was surely the last chance.

Almost a disaster for Dziugas Bartkus who fumbles another disappointing Conor Hourihane cross, but the Lithuania goalkeeper gathers at the second attempt.

Shayne Lavery's effort deflects into the path of Dion Charles, who can't fire home from four yards as Dibusz steps up again!

Ian Baraclough is just sitting with his head in his hands, who can blame him?

The hosts are sending cross after cross into the Lithuania area as we enter the closing stages. John Egan connects with a hopeful delivery from the right but his header is saved by Dziugas Bartkus.

Dibusz takes well over a minute to take a goal kick and is treated to a Belfast welcome when he gets round to it.

What a save! Shayne Lavery finds Tari Hume at the back post, who does really well to head the ball down but it's turned away by Dibusz.
