Newcastle manager Eddie Howe to Sky Sports: "To score so late in the game is a massive lift for everybody.

"I thought we had the best chances. Leicester were probably in control of the game but we had some really good moments and I thought our defensive resilience in the second half, as Leicester took control of the ball, was excellent. We hung in there, made it difficult for them to penetrate us, and got rewarded for that with the counter-attack goal at the end.

"Yes, they love him (Bruno Guimaraes) and rightly so after today's performance. He was magnificent in every discipline of the game. I think the biggest compliment I could give him is that on 95 minutes, with tired legs, for sure, for him - he's getting used to the Premier League - but he's managed to get himself in the box to score that header."

West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to MOTD: "When he [Ashley Westwood] went down he reacted right away as though something was wrong. I hope he is fine. You care for the people who get bad injuries.

"We were playing quite well when the injury happened. A lack of concentration led to the goal but we had enough chances to win.

"We kept at it and probably should have won.

"The keeper made a couple of great saves but in truth we should have finished the game off. It's disappointing we didn't. If you are going to challenge and be near the top, you need to take your chances.

"We had a great chance and we have not done well today. We have let that go."

West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes said: "It is a game where we missed an opportunity. We had an opportunity to challenge the teams above us but we have missed it.

"It was a terrible injury to Ashley Westwood, which derailed the speed of the game for a while. We lost concentration during that period, but that was our fault and nobody else's.

"We were playing quite well and knocking on the door at that time but went on to concede the goal. We had a great chance to win the game with the amount of chances and we probably should have.

"We have been doing OK up till now. We will keep ploughing on and keep picking up results. He [Nick Pope] had a couple of really good saves but hopefully we will score them in the next games."

Newcastle United

Since the start of February, Newcastle have won more points from losing positions than any other team in the Premier League (10). In this period, Eddie Howe’s side have only lost two of the six league games they have conceded first in (W3 D1).

Bruno Guimaraes has scored three goals in his five Premier League starts for Newcastle, and became just the second Brazilian to score a brace for the club in the competition, after Kenedy in March 2018 (v Southampton).

Burnley became the 20th and final Premier League side to take a penalty this season.

However, Maxwel Cornet became only the third Clarets player to fail to score a penalty in the Premier League, after Scott Arfield (September 2014 v Crystal Palace) and Matthew Taylor (April 2015 v Leicester City).

Burnley

Speaking to BBC Sport, Burnley interim boss Mike Jackson said: "It wasn't nice to see and it had an effect on the lads. He [Westwood] has been taken to hospital and hopefully it is not as bad as expected but best wishes go to him. Straight away, you just knew. We just hope it is not too bad.

"With what has happened in the past week, and today with Ash [Westwood], we could have got the three points but it's a good point for us on the road. I is something to build on."

On Nick Pope's performance: "That is why he is in that England group. they are terrific saves but they are the standards he sets himself.

"In a strange way, I did enjoy it, it has been manic. That is where I'm happiest on the grass. it is where I'm most comfortable."

Newcastle United

Newcastle's two-goal hero Bruno Guimaraes to Sky Sports: "What a feeling, what a game, the group deserved it.

"To score two goals was brilliant. It was always my dream to play in the Premier League and I'm so happy for today. I want to be a legend here."

Burnley

Burnley caretaker boss Mike Jackson: "I think it is a good point for us. We did really well in the first half and had the penalty miss. It's a terrific result and we had the incident with Ash as well which affected the group. We are just hoping he is ok.

"He has gone to hospital and they are having a look at it. We know it doesn't look too good but we've got our fingers crossed.

"Max had taken the penalty and missed it and we move on. He had another chance later on. These things happen.

"It was an amazing save [from Nick Pope]. It's why he plays for England.

"The reaction from the players has been good. They have really come together and rallied around each other."

Burnley

Burnley keeper Nick Pope on the serious injury to Ashley Westwood:

"Myself and all the boys wish him the best. I obviously have no news on it as the game has only just finished.

"Westy is a big part of how we play and a big character."

On the sacking of Sean Dyche: "Normally you see rumours about these sorts of things. No one knew it was going on."

Newcastle United

Surely Newcastle are safe now?

They have a 12-point safety cushion with six matches left.

It's been an incredible turnaround.

They were three points from safety in 19th spot after a 4-0 home defeat by Manchester City on 19 December.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope said: "It is a good point. It's never an easy place to come. The place was bouncing after their result in midweek. They are a top team so to come here and get a point, we have to be happy.

"It is not always going to go your way. It is one of those things, we have to keep ourselves level headed.

"Ashley [Westwood] has been brilliant for us so he has all of our best wishes. The lads are willing to fight for the shirt and everyone loves playing for this football club."

Burnley

Burnley keeper Nick Pope: "We showed the character to come through and get a point. It's a foundation. Everyone was looking to see how we reacted and it is something for us to build on. It's a point in the right direction.

"West Ham are a top team. It's never an easy place to come to and it's good to play my part."
