Statue for Sean Dyche outside Turf Moor?

That's what Brentford boss Thomas Frank says the former Burnley boss deserves for all his hard work.

"I'm massively surprised," said Frank about Dyche's sacking.

"As Brentford's head coach, there are a lot of things we can learn about Burnley. It's remarkable what they have done.

"Sean Dyche and his coaching staff and everyone involved in the club have done an unbelievable top job. Sean Dyche deserves a lot of credit, almost they should build a statue of him outside Turf Moor."

Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Leicester have been on such an upward curve over the past few seasons and it's near impossible to sustain that.

There was always going to be a dip but they've made the semi-finals of a European competition. They've had some excitement and, if they can win it, that will make this a really good season.

I was getting a bit worried about Newcastle last week because their form had slumped, but they improved against Wolves and got the win as well.

Before then, the Magpies had lost three in a row but all three of those defeats were away from home and I'd expect them to be better at St James' Park.

I'm backing them here too, although Leicester are so up and down it makes predicting their results very difficult.

    Lawro's prediction: 2-1

What next for Sean Dyche and who next for Burnley?

Surely it won't be too long before Dyche's former club Watford are looking for someone new given their rapid turnover of managers.

As for the Clarets, they are running out of games and need an experienced boss in quickly.

After next Thursday's home match with Southampton, they will have just six matches to save themselves.

I worry for Burnley now. I don't know who is out there who can get as big a tune as Sean Dyche has out of them over the last 10 years.

There are six weeks and eight games left. You cannot bring a new philosophy in.

That team is set up to play a certain way so it's got to be a like-for-like change that is hopefully going to boost the morale of the place and try and change the fortunes around in a short space of time.

  15. Managerless Burnley to spring surprise?published at 13:06 BST 17 April 2022

A huge day for Burnley who have their U23 coach in charge following Sean Dyche's sacking.

    Hello!

As Chelsea and Crystal Palace get ready to meet in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, we have a reduced Premier League offering.

    BUT.

We have two European semi-finalists in action while Burnley, four points from safety with eight games left, begin life after Sean Dyche.

  17. Spectacular own goal?published at 12:58 BST 17 April 2022

When it comes to own goals, Burnley have scored one or two this season.

There was that time Ben Mee put past his own keeper at Manchester United in December?

Some Clarets fans will argue selling Chris Wood - still Burnley's joint-second leading scorer in the Premier League in 2021-22 - to Newcastle in the middle of a relegation scrap was an own goal.

But have Burnley's hierarchy scored the most spectacular own goal of them all by getting rid of Sean Dyche with eight games left?
