Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a very good first half. With the ball and in terms of our intensity, it was up there with one of our best performances. In the second half Crystal Palace came back into it, but we defended very well.

"We’ve had a very good shape. The players have developed a good mentality to defending, and I think we needed to because Palace played well.

"It’s a great night for the football club. You can forget how hard it’s been to get us into this position now. We have to look back with great satisfaction.

"I say it every week but this is a great place to play football. The all-round atmosphere was brilliant to experience."

On the Magpies' improvement under his management: "It seems like a long time ago [since I came in]. You can very quickly forget where we were and where we’ve come from this season. It’s been great to see the team move forward and develop certain characteristics."

On Miguel Almiron: "Miggy’s a great trainer and a great professional. It was great to see him score."

Phil Foden made his 50th Premier League start for Manchester City – aged 21 years and 327 days.

He became the youngest to start 50 games for City since Joe Hart in January 2009 (21y 287d) and the youngest to ever start 50 top-flight games under Pep Guardiola, overtaking Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets in November 2010 (22y 120d).

Chelsea's grip on third has loosened slightly following their home defeat by Arsenal, which sees the Gunners move level on points with Tottenham in the battle for a top-four place.

Everton captain Seamus Coleman, speaking to Sky Sports: "It would have been great to have a game a bit sooner after the Manchester United game. Leicester keep the ball very well and scored early but we showed character. To score late on is really important.

"We were disappointed with ourselves [after going behind]. We wanted to take advantage of playing at Goodison. I thought we were more aggressive in the second half, we showed character and had plenty of chances to equalise. It was a deserved point in the end.

"We didn't get too high after beating United and we won't get too low about not beating Leicester. We're not taking it for granted. We just have to keep going. We are not in the position we want to be but we are where we are. We're fighting."

On whether he will watch relegation rivals Burnley's match tomorrow: "Yeah. I'd like to say no, but when you love the club as much as I do, I'll be keeping an eye on the score for sure."
