    Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC One

Zinchenko elects to try to head it back and gets away with it.

It falls to Salah's right foot and you think that if that's on his left, in the back of the net.

He really should have stuck that away.

  2. CLOSE!published at 73 mins

    Man City 1-3 Liverpool

    Sidenetting!

Luis Diaz hooks the ball into Mohamed Salah's path, Oleksandr Zinchenko tries to head back but it is too short and Salah lobs the goalkeeper but into the sidenetting.

Diaz may have been flagged offside but Salah had to get that on target at least.

  3. 'Outstanding save from Alisson'published at 17:00 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

    Man City 1-3 Liverpool

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC One

Outstanding save, great concentration from Alisson, as he hasn't really had to do much.

I wonder if Jesus could have taken it on a bit, he takes it early.

Alisson steadies himself, gets that left foot in the way.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 71 mins

    Man City 1-3 Liverpool

    BIG save!

Gabriel Jesus times his run superbly to break clear of Liverpool's high defensive line. The forward is in on goal and just has Alisson to beat but the Reds keeper makes the save, getting down to his left quickly.

    That could prove massive.

Naby Keita goes for the spectacular with a strike from distance but he is always leaning back and the effort goes flying way over.

There's a strange feeling about the game at the moment. A bit of a lull.

Re 16:50 - For what it's worth City have received the 7th most red cards in the PL this season, more than most of the so called smaller clubs. So I'm not sure the idea refs go easy on us really holds water.

Sadio Mane slides a brilliant ball into the area for Mohamed Salah but Nathan Ake reads the danger superbly and puts the ball behind for a corner.

    Man City 1-3 Liverpool

Manchester City are passing the ball about, happy to go backwards if need be as they prioritise retaining possession. There's still plenty of time to score the two goals they need so no need to be panicking just yet.

Murrayarti: Fernandinho should be walking straight down the tunnel, could have had four yellow cards this game.

Paul: How is that not out of control from Fernandinho? Feet high and both off the floor. He got yellow, should have been red. Players at other clubs have been sent off for less!

He's out of control, off his feet but his studs are not showing. That's a hard yellow card, but a few more inches and that could have been an easy red.

The silence had to be cut short by referee Michael Oliver.

"Manchester City are extremely disappointed with the actions of some City supporters during the minute's silence before today's game," a club spokesperson said.

"The club sincerely apologises to all those connected with Liverpool Football Club."

Jesus has timed that run perfectly, City played Liverpool at their own game.

He puts it on a plate and that is a real quality finish from Jack Grealish.

Game on. This would be one of the all-time great comebacks if they get back into this.
