Liverpool fans are celebrating as if they have won this already.

We wondered if so many changes would affect City - it looked a very strong Liverpool team from the beginning and they have taken advantage.

It is already party time in the Liverpool end of Wembley. They feel this is now too big a mountain to climb for Manchester City but if they get one back before half time then who knows?

They are going to have to try and test Alisson more than they have, however.

That is a dreadful error! He's not as good with his feet as Ederson, he is miles away from it there. He was caught dawdling on the ball, he didn't even get it close to get it out of his feet. He had plenty of time, but they have done their homework on him.

Awful goalkeeping, not good enough. You will not get an easier goal than that.

Well, it's an awful mistake from the goalkeeper.

He just takes too long, Steffen, it's ridiculous and Mane can't believe his luck when he comes steaming in.

It's a disaster but credit Mane, we know Liverpool press and they get the ultimate prize there.

But it's a really cheap goal to give away.

Liverpool, from the players to the fans, are desperate to win this. They have not given City a second on the ball.

Liverpool's high line works as Joao Cancelo is flagged offside as he chases a Fernandinho ball.

Manchester City attack again soon after and Phil Foden does well to meet a difficult cross from the right but can only cushion his header into Alisson's hands.

That really was a great header by Ibrahima Konate. Great leap and out of the goalkeeper's reach. No chance.

That's headers now against Benfica (twice) and now Manchester City.

Liverpool merit their lead. Right on the front foot and pressurising a Manchester City side who haven't got started at all yet.

It is fairly clear from the noise that Liverpool's fans are rather impressed with this start.

Manchester City are doing their best to get back level quickly and Raheem Sterling tries to charge through the middle but there's too many Liverpool players in his way.

He's attacked it, he's done it recently so incredibly well. No-one seems to get near him, it does not matter if anyone was there as he would have gone straight through them.

Manchester City have the chance to respond quickly with a corner but visibility seems difficult as a flare goes off by the goalline.

The corner is played short but Phil Foden is put under pressure and has to go backwards.

What about the power from this young man?

We talked about no Laporte, it's a wonderful leap, we've seem Konate do it twice recently.

He comes up against Ake, and he knows he's going to win it, he's too strong and gets a good direction on it, a wonderful header.

Khan Karn: Man City fans saying they are worried about £90m centre half pairing is laughable. Their back five is £150m plus so there shouldn’t be any excuses.

Once again this game is being played at a typically high tempo. It isn't quite as open as last weekend's encounter but feels like it is only a matter of time.

It's not going to be a chess match, is it? Liverpool are closing really high up the field and that might to do with who is in goals for City.
