It's been entertaining. Scotland have looked convincing going forward and thoroughly unconvincing at the back. It's a bit worrying. But Craig Gordon looks incredibly sharp - he's a wonder who keeps on giving.

Austria are perhaps guilty of not doing their homework for this one.

Almost every Scotland corner against Poland on Thursday was aimed for Grant Hanley at the back post and that's what led to the goal.

That will have been cooked up by set-piece guru Austin MacPhee, who performs a similar role at Aston Villa.

John McGinn certainly pings in a terrific delivery.

At 39, the goalkeeper is showing no signs of slowing down and he's pulled off some impressive saves this evening.

Scotland have had their moments in attack, with a couple of early chances for John McGinn, while Jack Hendry knocked in the only goal from a corner.

The stadium announcer has just given the crowd as 6,600, prompting the Scotland fans to break into a rendition of a popular football song about the relative merits of the home support. Meanwhile, the visiting goal continues to lead something of a charmed life. Nothing seems to be going the way of the Austrians right now.

    Austria 0-0 Scotland

A third excellent save from the evergreen Craig Gordon.

Sasa Kalajdzic leaves a low cross from the left and Marco Arnautovic thumps a low shot through a few bodies but the Scotland goalie gets down to keep it out.

The travelling fans may not quite outnumber the home support (though it must be close) but they’re certainly out-singing them. The Scots are still flush with belief and optimism while their Austrian counterparts have been struck by the apathy that comes from missing out on a major tournament. The team are still giving a decent account of themselves, mind.

Craig Gordon has to claw away an awkward, deflected cross and Marco Arnautovic can only fire the loose ball over the top.

The ball bounced up a bit too high for the striker to control his shot.

Another great reaction stop from Craig Gordon, this time using an outstretched leg to deny Sasa Kalajdzic as the striker meets a cut-back from Valentino Lazaro.
