    FT: Kilmarnock 2-1 Arbroath

    That'll do us for tonight.

We didn't get any reaction from the Arbroath camp but understandably they will be devastated, what an effort they've put in this season.

Congratulations to Killie, who will be back in the Premiership next term.

We'll be back tomorrow with coverage from the top tier and the rest of the domestic action.

Enjoy the rest of your Friday.

  2. 'No more than we deserved' - McInnespublished at 22:05 British Summer Time 22 April 2022

    FT: Kilmarnock 2-1 Arbroath

Killie boss Derek McInnes tells BBC Sportscene: "What a way to win it! It was no more than we deserved.

"We didn't respond well to losing the goal. I thought we were too pumped up, too erratic, too excitable. Half-time came at a good time for us.

"The perseverance of the team was clear, the winning mentality of the team was brilliant and to score so late on was fantastic.

"I'm absolutely delighted for so many people but it shows what this place can be and I'm delighted to play my part in that."

  3. 'Stuff of dreams' - McGinnpublished at 22:03 British Summer Time 22 April 2022

    FT: Kilmarnock 2-1 Arbroath

Kilmarnock midfielder Stephen McGinn tells BBC Sportscene: "To win it the way we did is the stuff of dreams. I can't describe it.

"The manager was really calm at half-time. We were upset with each other.

"But once we got one we knew we'd get the second. Wee Burkey was sensational when he came on, he's an inspiration."

Huge credit to Kilmarnock, what a tough first 45 minutes they had. To get they two goals and win the title in front of your supporters is very special.

Killie were by far better team second half. Derek Gaston was outstanding and made save after save. No one will ever take anything away from Arbroath. They will be heavy favourites to come through the play-offs, and who would bet against them?

This means so much to this club. They've been backed this season and you can see what it means for the fans. To bounce back in the first season is really hard to do. It's a proud moment.

It's all too much for the home support as they invade the pitch in their numbers.

What a game, what a night, but heartbreak for Dick Campbell's part-time heroes.

    Blair Alston

    Absolute bedlam!

Killie have been banging at the door for a second and they've broken it down with a delightful finish from Blair Alston.

Ollie Shaw holds the ball up on the edge of the area before feeding Alston who takes a touch and caresses an effort into the bottom-right corner.

The top is off, the fans are on the park. Scenes!

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 88 mins

    Kilmarnock 1-1 Arbroath

A fantastic triple save from Derek Gaston!

The Arbroath keeper is up high to tip away two curling efforts from Fraser Murray either side of a deflected strike from Kyle Lafferty.

What a night the keeper has had.
