    Scotland 0-1 Spain

Some good passing play from Scotland down the right hand side earns them a corner kick. Good, battling play from both Caroline Weir and Abi Harrison.

It's a good delivery into the box as well, but Spain defend it well.

The wrong decision from Lee Alexander to come out, but the correct decision from the referee to not send her off. There are covering defenders behind her.

    Scotland 0-1 Spain

Lee Alexander takes one for the team and races out to knock over Esther Gonzalez outside her box, who had outpaced the defence and was in the process of rounding Alexander.

Alexander gets a yellow card, and Scotland have a free-kick to defend, which Spain put over the bar.

The Hampden crowd is full of young girls roaring on their heroes whenever they come forward.

There has been plenty for them to enjoy so far, too. Scotland have to just keep their heads after that sucker punch.

    Scotland 0-1 Spain

Scotland pay the price for a lack of patience.

Abi Harrison manages to cut out a wayward pass and Scotland have time and space to break, but Harrison knocks the ball forward first time and straight to the feet of the opposition.

    Scotland 0-1 Spain

Spain have another penalty shout, this time Alexia Putellas goes down under the challenge of Scotland captain Rachel Corsie, but this time the referee says no and the TV replays appear to indicate she was correct.

  11. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Scotland 0-1 Spain

Scotland go forward, Claire Emsllie gets the cross in but there's far too much on it.

Abi Harrison to her credit doesn't give it up and keeps it in, but her cross back in is equally as poor and sails over the bar.

I'm disappointed she was allowed space to get into the box. The minute you get into the box any challenge is going to be dangerous. It's the perfect penalty too, the pace and the direction take it away from Lee Alexander who went the right way.

    Jenni Hermoso

Scotland goalkeeper Lee Alexander guesses the right way but Jenni Hermoso places the penalty into the net.

That's extremely harsh on Scotland who had started so well, and it's sickening they cough up a goal so easily with a penalty.

    It's a penalty for Spain.

Nicola Docherty catches the foot of Alexia Putellas and the referee has no hesitation in pointing to the spot.

Scotland's best form of defence so far has been attack. They haven't let Spain get on the ball to play yet and they're all working so hard for each other.

Scotland are right up for this.

It feels like they've put in more tackles and kept the ball far better in the first three minutes than they did in 90 minutes in Seville.

The challenge is to maintain it.

    Scotland 0-0 Spain

Caroline Weir is at the centre of the action again.

She cuts inside and chips the ball forward, but it just has a little bit too much on it to find Martha Thomas.

It's some more encouraging play from Scotland.

Lee Alexander gets down low to save from Jenni Hermoso who finishes off a passing move from the visitors, but it lacked power and it's a comfortable save for the Glasgow City goalkeeper.

Tell you what, Scotland have started well. Plenty of aggression from the home side who aren't letting the Spanish play.
