  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 61 mins

    Preston 1-4 Blackburn

It should be 4-2 and Preston should have their second goal.

Patrick Bauer almost finds the net from close range before Thomas Kaminski saves, while Emil Riis Jakobsen tries his luck a split second later, drawing another stunning Kaminski save.

I am reminded, thanks to BBC Radio Lancashire's sport editor Andy Bayes, that that Lewis Travis goal was his first in more than two years.

Some way to end your goalscoring drought.

    Preston 1-4 Blackburn

Right then, let's look at the bigger picture.

If it stays like this, Blackburn will be seventh and three points off sixth-placed Sheffield United having played the same number of games.

They will also have a goal difference of 11, compared to the Blades' goal difference of 12.

It's shaping up to be a pretty interesting fight for the play-offs, with Millwall and Middlesbrough in the mix, too.

Can someone tell me why Lewis Travis is so far up the park?!

His first touch set him up and his second was so calm, that was magnificent. He doesn't score many goals and it was just nice to see him hit the target!

There's nothing more positive than seeing one of your holding midfielders get forward to score a goal.

    Stunning. Absolutely stunning.

Ben Brereton Diaz weaves his way through the Preston half and, with his back to goal, he picks up Lewis Travis with an absolute peach of a low through ball.

Travis, who himself did well to find and run into space, then fires low and sends them into a three-goal lead.

This is some performance from Blackburn.

    Preston 1-3 Blackburn

Sean Maguire tries his luck from long range, however unlike John Buckley's stunning effort from distance for Blackburn from around the same area in the first half, Maguire's shot goes high and wide.

Still, a more encouraging start for Preston than the first half.

    Preston 1-3 Blackburn

Well, we had four goals in the first half, and the first came after just nine minutes.

Are we in store for more goals in this second period? So far Preston have bossed possession after the restart and the home fans are fine voice despite the scoreline.

Right then, we're back under way at Deepdale.

Can Ryan Lowe steer his side to a stunning comeback against Blackburn?

Or are Rovers going to end their five-game winless run in style?

Preston make one change for the second half, with Sean Maguire replacing Greg Cunningham.

Both managers will be going in with different ideas about how they're going to come out for this second half.

I'm hoping that Tony Mowbray doesn't go defensive and that Rovers keep the pressure on from the first half.

I think Preston will come out a different side and press harder.

  10. 'A big team talk for Lowe'published at 20:23 British Summer Time 25 April 2022

Preston started brightly but Blackburn soon took control.

They've deserved their lead - for me the attacking threat has come from Blackburn.

It's a big team talk to come from Ryan Lowe now.

    And breathe..

What a half of football. Some proper life in this derby, I tell you.

After Sam Gallagher and John Buckley combined to send Blackburn into a two-goal lead after just 12 minutes, the visitors looked in control.

Alan Browne's strike got Preston back in it before Darragh Lenihan restored Blackburn's two-goal cushion.

All to play for when we return.

  12. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45 mins

Three minutes of time added on to this first half.

Ben Brereton Diaz puts a swinging ball into the Preston box the hosts collect the ball soon after.

Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray will be hoping his side don't concede again before the half-time whistle.

    Preston 1-3 Blackburn

There's some spark in this one, still.

Alan Browne reminds us this is a derby as he pushes Lewis Travis to hurry him up on the sidelines.

Not long left in the first half, now.

    Blimey.

At the other end, Lewis Travis almost deflects Brad Potts' cross into his own net and forces a quickfire save from his Blackburn teammate Thomas Kaminski.

A corner follows, which Cameron Archer heads behind but it sails out for a goal kick.

    Preston 1-3 Blackburn

There's some heated discussions going on among the Preston defenders in the aftermath of that goal.

It's an impressive header, if nothing else, as Darragh Lenihan was a fair way out.

Patrick Bauer is penalised for a foul on Blackburn's Ryan Hedges just outside the Preston box.

There's a fair bit of outcry from the home support but replays show that it is indeed a foul.

John Buckley stands over the free-kick that follows but Joe Rothwell ends up sending it into the box and Darragh Lenihan heads in at the far post.

    The two-goal lead returns!

    Preston 1-2 Blackburn

Greg Cunningham scuffs the chance to turn in at the near post as he looks to work on to Emil Riis Jakobsen's lofted delivery.

The Preston left-back can't quite get onto the ball before he spills it out for a goal kick to Blackburn.

  18. 'Seed of doubt for Blackburn'published at 31 mins

That's the little glimmer of hope and excitement Preston needed.

It's been all Blackburn so far but it puts a seed of doubt into their heads now.

Preston hit back as Alan Browne cuts inside the Blackburn box and fires a net-busting shot past Rovers keeper Thomas Kaminski.

    Blackburn look stunned.

    Preston 0-2 Blackburn

The tempo of this game has calmed down somewhat in the past few minutes.

John Buckley tries his luck with a crossfield ball into the path of Ben Brereton Diaz, but the Chile international is flagged offside.
