Bournemouth's celebrations will go on long into the night after a long Bank Holiday weekend, with Scott Parker and his team leading the way.

The Championship is a gruelling Saturday-Tuesday slog of 46 games, and we've played 45 of them. One to go. Two already up.

Plenty will be finalised on Saturday.

Before that, the League One play-offs kick-off on Thursday and Friday. A taste of things to come.

Until then, whether you're up in the clouds or down in the dirt emotionally, take care.

    Good night.

    There we are then.

    Fulham, champions. Bournemouth, second place.

Forest, play-offs. So many questions yet to be answered.

  3. 'This group digs deep'published at 21:30 British Summer Time 3 May 2022

    FT: Bournemouth 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Bournemouth boss Scott Parker told Sky Sports:

"First and foremost I'm delighted for the fans, and my players. They deserve this position. It means a lot.

"We never had control in the first-half, and we didn't want a basketball match. We spoke about control and calm and process. We didn't execute the game plan and in the second half we showed our dominance.

"This group is a young team, learning their trade in a promotion task. One thing about this group, if we need a result we did deep and find it."

We had plenty of champagne and no trophy. Maybe they'll get that on Saturday.

Celebrations were impressive enough without silverware anyway.

The fans are finally cleared, and the stage is erected.

Unlike the old days where only the league champions and the play-off winners get a cup, the runners-up also get a token of success too.

All we need is a trophy now, and a victorious team.

  6. 'I've not really slept this week'published at 21:20 British Summer Time 3 May 2022

    FT: Bournemouth 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Bournemouth winger Ryan Christie told Sky Sports:

"It's mad, it's such a long season and it comes down to one game.

"I've not really slept this week. The first-half was emotional. Then we had a moment of magic from Kieffer [Moore] and we're in the Premier League.

"We were told to calm down and take the emotion out of it. We brought control second-half and as soon as we got the goal it was about keeping them out.

"That was the longest eight minutes [of added time]. We'll have a good few days now I'm sure."

  7. 'It's not sunk in yet'published at 21:17 British Summer Time 3 May 2022

    FT: Bournemouth 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing told Sky Sports:

“It's not sunk in yet, it’s unbelievable.

“After last season it [play-offs] was something none of us wanted to do, we’ve worked hard all season, and it’s a great emotion because we put so much work in throughout the whole year.

“We’re a fit team and what we’ve shown with this young team is amazing.”

  8. 'I've dreamt of this moment'published at 21:15 British Summer Time 3 May 2022

    FT: Bournemouth 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Bournemouth striker Kieffer Moore told Sky Sports:

“I’m speechless, when I came here I had one goal and then had the setback straight away, but I had the dream and thankfully it’s come about.

“As soon as I had my surgery my first thought was when can I get back and I want to thank the staff for helping me.

“I’m glad it’s behind me and it’s hard to put into words what it means. I’ve dreamt of this moment as a kid [playing in the Premier League] and thankfully I get to live it.”

Bournemouth then can breathe a sigh of relief, they have done the job within the regular season.

Their fans are swamped on the pitch right now. Expectant.

For Nottingham Forest, focus turns to the play-offs, and for their fans there are so many moments to haunt them that will linger large now.

Sheffield United when they were 2-0 up at Bramall Lane in 2003 and still beaten. Winning at Yeovil and collapsing at home. Blown out by Blackpool and Swansea. These moments are imprinted on Forest minds.

They will not be looking forward to it. Steve Cooper needs to bring this team back to it's best. Sharpish.

Kieffer Moore. What a signing for Scott Parker. He came on to grab the crucial winner and that will see him enter Cherries folklore.

What a moment for Parker too. Repeated the feats of promotion with Fulham, but this time, up automatically.

Skipper Lloyd Kelly looks drained and delighted in equal measure as he picks his way through celebrating Bournemouth fans, being hugged and grasped and celebrated with as the feeling of promotion sinks in.

Chairman Jeff Mostyn, who helped secure this club's future after near-extinction in 2008, looks especially emotional.

Bournemouth have done it. After two seasons away, the Cherries will again be an elite-level outfit in the Premier League next season.

The fans are on the pitch. Scenes of delirium. Fans on shoulders. Players mobbed.

Promotion is achieved. Nottingham Forest have missed their opportunity, and the dreaded play-offs will again be their fate.
