    Timothy Weah

    It has been coming.

Joe Rodon is caught too high, Christian Pulisic picks his pass, Timothy Weah gets away from Neco Williams and his finish is emphatic.

Like father like son, USA lead.

Just the 20 touches combined for Gareth Bale and Dan James so far for Wales. In contrast the USA's front three have managed 60 so far.

I think right now the way the USA are playing, what we are asking Harry Wilson, Aaron Ramsey and Ethan Ampadu to do defensively is too much.

We cannot release our wing backs and if we cannot release our wingbacks those three midfielders have to cover touchline to touchline... and it is too much space for them to cover.

    Wales are dropping too deep.

    They look passive.

So far Wales have lost the tactical battle, you've got to give credit to the USA, they've done their homework and at the moment they are executing their game plan much better than Wales are.

Fans are trying to rally the Welsh but they've got to work something out, for me just tell Rambo [Aaron Ramsey] sit in midfield, you are the spare man, create the overload.

Sergino Dest has a pop, sends the ball to Dubai.

    Wales won't mind that.

  7. Passing is a problem for Walespublished at 28 mins

    USA 0-0 Wales

    Chris Bevan
BBC Sport at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Qatar

USA have had more than 70% of the possession so far, but more worrying for Wales is how bad their passing has been when they do get on the ball - only 72% accuracy from Rob Page's side so far, compared to 90% by the US.

Wales just can't keep hold of the ball when they come forward.

USA have dominated the ball in the opening stages. Wales very much struggling to build anything of note in attack as this graphic of the action areas shows.

Ethan Ampadu has been everywhere picking up people, picking up runners, second balls, they've got no release ball.

We’ve had the first rendition of the ‘I believe that we will win' chant from the USA fans.

Is it the worst chant in football?

Wales just need to settle down, keep the ball, play their way into the game.

The American team are young and athletic and have come right out of the blocks. This is where the experience comes in for Wales.

It is a couple of London-based players who keep threatening Wales.

Antonee Robinson and Christian Pulisic are getting way too much space.

They combine, but Ethan Ampadu is able to clear.

The area of concern for Wales before this game was the midfield, where they could get overrun by the USA.

That would appear to be the reason for Harry Wilson’s selection but, even with the Fulham playmaker in there, he and Aaron Ramsey are attack-minded players and the States are already getting the upper hand in that area.

Ah Nathan Blake has also gone early calling for Kieffer Moore.

    I feel better now.

    Better signs for Wales.

    Finally, some possession.

They don't have an outlet though.

I can't believe I'm going after 19 minutes, but Wales are a scarier team with Kieffer Moore in it. Sorry.

America are doing to Wales what Wales I think had planned to do to America.

Without that platform of the big man down the middle, I always think Wales will struggle.

Wales have good passers in their midfield, but they simply can't get hold of the ball.

Gareth Bale of all people just conceded possession.

Wales not yet in this game as an attacking threat.

It's been a confident start from the USA.

Plenty of bucket-hatted youngsters among the 200-plus fans in the Pill Social Centre as part of Milford Athletic Juniors Gwyl Cymru Fan Zone, which is also hosting Radio Wales Sport tonight.

And you know it’s a big game when there is no-one daring to leave their seats to grab a burger or hot dog.

But the pre-game buzz of excitement and anticipation has made way for a little touch of apprehension as the nerves and the significance of the game itself take over.
