This is becoming attack v defence.

Mohammed Al Burayk gets in behind the Poland defence but his right-wing cross goes over the bar.

    Wasteful.

What a goal this would have been!

Saudi Arabia captan Salem Al Dawsari shows some brilliant footwork to keep hold of the ball and release Feras Al Brikan in down the left-hand channel.

He takes on the effort with his left-foot, but he slices it over the bar.

Better from Saudi. They are creating openings.

Give them their dues, Saudi Arabia. The Poland defence have been gobbling up everything that's been going in the box, so they've tried something a bit different - and it's led to two half-chances.

I wonder if the referee has gone in and thought to himself, "I've gone early with five bookings, I need to calm down." You can spoil the game with that.

Saud Abdulhamid was heavily involved and looked threatening down the right for Saudi Arabia in the first half.

That didn't stop his manager moving him to the other flank for the second half, though.

    Better from Poland.

They've done their research and found the way to get at this Saudi Arabia side is to play in behind them.

Bartosz Bereszynski is found in down the left, but his cross is too deep for Robert Lewandowski at the back post.

Saudi Arabia know that something extra special may be required, as they showed against Argentina. They're trying it.

How has that not gone in?

Saudi Arabia work another chance after Salem Al Dawsari blazes high and wide.

A cross from the left lands at the feet of Saleh Al Shehri, who tries to bundle his way through but is crowded out.

The ball drops for Al Dawsari and he flicks towards goal but is denied by Wojciech Szczesny, who has made himself nice and big.

He lets out a huge roar towards the Poland fans as the ball clears the crossbar for a goal kick.

Saudi Arabia's crosses are meat and drink for Poland's defence. The centre-backs and midfielders are big lumps - maybe that's a bit harsh, but they're big, strong men.

You can't watch Poland without thinking "low block".

    Poland 1-0 Saudi Arabia

A switch of play gets Nawaf Al Abid in behind Matty Cash in the Poland right-back area but the cross is blocked behind for a corner.

That is cleared initially, but the recycled ball is met by an ambitious overhead kick, which drifts well wide.

    Danger!

Mohammed Al Owais comes hurtling out of his box, but unlike Wales' Wayne Hennessy yesterday, he gets to the ball first and puts it out of play.

There would have been a few hearts in mouths there.

    No, they can't.

It beats the first man but is headed away by the second.

  16. World Cup streaming service blocked in Saudi Arabiapublished at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November 2022

Poland v Saudi Arabia (13:00 GMT)

    Dan Roan
    BBC Sports editor

Fans in Saudi Arabia have been unable to watch all of the World Cup after a streaming service was blocked by the country's government.

Tod TV, owned by Qatar-based broadcaster beIN SPORTS, holds the rights to the tournament In Saudi with 22 matches free-to-air.

But 42 can only be watched via a streaming service, that was blocked an hour before the opening ceremony.

The Saudi Media Ministry told viewers the service violated regulations.

Saudi Arabia came from behind to beat two-time winners Argentina 2-1 in their opening match in what is one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history.

Tod has written to advertisers on its platform explaining that it is "experiencing an outage which is currently impacting" its service.

The service also sent a message to viewers saying the situation was due to "matters beyond our control".

Subscribers have complained on social media about the issue.

Listen to the applause - your team is losing 1-0 but Saudi Arabia are playing really well. They shouldn't be downhearted. It's all down to their manager now.

Poland know that, for a lot of the game, they were second-best. They were passed around in midfield. But they pounced absolutely brilliantly.

They cannot take that for granted because there is enough quality in this Saudi Arabia side. The one thing I would question is that they don't have a great finisher.

As was the case against Argentina, it may be that it takes a fabulous goal to get them back into this.

If you're a Polish person, you're thinking "give us a mention now and again". They haven't deserved it that often. Let's see if they come out more positively for the second half - I think they'll just try to hold on.

The Poland midfield and attack haven't offered a huge amount of width in the first half... Still, they're leading at the break so maybe they're onto something?!
