DBrown: Very proud Australian watching in Surrey - incredible effort. About time the Asian qualifiers are given more respect - been so much stronger than the African teams so far.
'One win, but it's nothing'
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
Australia manager Graham Arnold: "I’m hugely proud of the boys. They showed Aussie fighting spirit. They were in their faces all the time and I’m sure they made the nation very proud.
"The other night we played against the current world champions and the boys showed the same effort today. When the doubters hate us, bring it on!
"It's huge. Against France, you make a small mistake and you get punished. Those mistakes were removed tonight.
"The Australian fans here showed great support. We’ve achieved one win, but it’s nothing."
'Brilliant performance'
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One
Such a brilliant performance. They can be proud. The heart, the passion, they showed everything that the manager asked of them.
'Mooy was a man mountain'
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
Alex Scott
Former England and Arsenal defender on BBC One
Aaron Mooy was like a man mountain, a warrior. It was like it was rubbing off on everyone else around him, that they had to go beyond their job and help your team-mates every time.
Family celebrations
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
'That goal was for my son'
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
Emma Sanders
BBC Sport at Al Janoub Stadium
We are in the press conference room waiting to hear from the managers but Australia goalscorer Mitchell Duke has just been in.
He said his celebration - showing a letter J - was for his son.
"I spoke to my son when I got selected. You have to have that belief you can score. I told my son I would share this moment with him in that celebration.
"That was a little J for the first letter of his name. I haven’t seen it yet but apparently he did it back to me in the stadium.
"It is a moment I will hold very dear for the rest of my life."
Watch: Australia get the job done
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
A great goal and some immense defending. Click above to watch the highlights.
'They fought fire with fire'
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
Vicki Sparks
BBC commentator
After the humbling against France, Australia respond. Their first win at a World Cup since 2010 against Serbia. They fought fire with fire, and when they needed to, they shut the game down.
'I'm going to start crying - it's such a big moment'
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
Australia goalscorer Mitchell Duke: "No words, I'm going to start crying because it's such a big moment.
"For me and my family, my supporters, it's the best feeling in the world but I'm trying not to get too caught up in it because the job's not done yet. We've got one more game to try and get out of the group.
On the goal: "Honestly, the best moment of my life to date in my football career. I'm just so happy and proud of the boys. People have sacrificed so much to be here - it's just the best feeling in the world.
"I'll go to war with these boys. A huge shift from these lads, a clean sheet, we fought until the end and that's all you can ask. We showed that Aussie spirit and we got the result."
On the Denmark game: "We're confident. We're trying not to get too caught up in the moment. We've got one more game to go and we'll try to make some more history for Australia."
'Australia want to do something special'
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
Mark Schwarzer
Former Australia keeper on BBC One
Our record at the World Cup for winning games has been pretty poor. So to do that and keep a clean sheet as well was phenomenal.
This squad is like a family and there is a real determination to do something special and put Australian football back on the map.
'Significant win'
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
Emma Sanders
BBC Sport at Al Janoub Stadium
A hugely, hugely significant victory for Australia. Their first win at a World Cup since 2010. Those Australian journalists in front of me are on their feet recording the post-match celebrations. One of the men has his head in his hands breathing deeply. I feel it.
How it looks in Group D
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
France against Denmark is at 16:00 GMT but Group D makes much better reading for Australia after this result. They started the day bottom but are now second on three points from two games.
Tunisia have one point from two games. It's not looking good for the North Africans. Their final group game is against holders France on Wednesday.
On the same day, Australia face Denmark, who have one point from one game.
'Fantastic team performance'
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
Ian Rush
Former Wales and Liverpool forward
It was a fantastic team performance but the two centre-backs were amazing. The most important thing for them now is the recovery for the next game but all the supporters: enjoy it!
Australia's party has started
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
They've been outnumbered in the stadium but Australia's fans have started a party inside the Al Janoub Stadium. Graham Arnold and his players are walking round the ground showing their appreciation for the support.
It's just gone 11pm in Sydney. They will be celebrating this victory for hours to come.
'Australia delivered'
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
Mark Schwarzer
Former Australia keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live
Absolutely phenomenal. With everything that Australia have been through, everything that was up against them and they delivered today.
Post update
FT: Tunisia 0-1 Australia
Just to rub it in the noses of Tunisia's fans, Down Under by Men At Work is booming out the speakers as Australia have a team huddle on the pitch. This was a huge test for the Socceroos. They passed it with flying colours.

Rip up the obituary! Australia are alive and kicking in Qatar.

Suddenly a counter attack by Australia as Awer Mabil steams forward. He can't control it though and here come Tunisia.
