Spain are still one of the standouts for me.

I am a little bit worried about Spain now. I saw some weaknesses today.

When they were put under pressure by the high Germany press they struggled to find solutions and there were some mistakes.

    Germany will be relieved.

We'll sit here and say that was a fair result.

I thought Germany grew into the game and they looked really good in the second half and looked more likely to score.

I think we were treated to a great game of football. The players who played gave everything, a lot of fantastic play especially by Spain. Germany also had some really good moves.

The one that really caught my eye was Musiala, what a great player he promises to be.

I also have to say that the referee helped the game, he let things go and it became a much, much better game because of that.

I would be surprised if Germany are challenging for the trophy. It would be huge if they could get to the semi-finals but I think challenging for the trophy is reserved for other teams.

This is the first time Germany have failed to win their first two group stage matches at a single World Cup.

And yet they are still in the competition.

As the old saying goes, never write off the Germans. Oh wait... over to Rio and Jurgen...

It was a nailbiter because of the situation Germany have got themselves in.

Here is the big goal that rescued a big point for Germany. It's a fine, fine finish...

Germany dig deep and keep themselves in the mix. A defeat would have left them so, so vulnerable in the final round of group games and needing to win and then relying on a superior goal difference.

Now, a win over Costa Rica and a Spanish victory over Japan will see them through.

After going 1-0 down Germany will take that. They showed good character to come back into the game.

They will feel confident they can beat Costa Rica and that Spain can win.

Can't help thinking that Germany's long cold footballing winter since 2014 is not good for the world game. They need to be strong.

Are the days of False 9s over and are we now seeing the return of proper Number 9s in top level football? Look at what Haaland is doing in the Premier League, and tonight both goals came from two big strikers making an impact from the bench.

It's made such a difference since Sane has been on the pitch. If he hasn't been fit then he certainly looks fit now. He gets Germany another opportunity to get all the points here.

What a run! It is a good run in behind. The weight of pass was very good, but Unai Simon did well to force him wide.

There it is! The one golden chance!

Leroy Sane beats the offside trap and carries the ball into the box and around Unai Simon. A Spanish defender gets back and carries the ball out for a corner with a sliding tackle.

Jamal Musiala has been Germany's best player. For someone so young he has given them something different.
