What a bit of skill, this is. He drops a shoulder to get inside and that far corner just opens up for him. He just can't quite get the bend on the shot.

Really good play, though, from Boufal and from Ziyech with the cross-field ball. They're the two that are going to get it done for Morocco.

So, so close to the opener!

Former Southampton man Sofiane Boufal gets the ball on the left wing, glides in and drops the shoulder to get past Thomas Meunier.

He then tries to curl into the far corner, but just doesn't get enough bend on it and it flashes inches wide.

When the ball comes in the box you don't want to be attempting a standing jump. You've got to be on the move, got to be around the back, got to be tempting the defender. A bit static from Belgium there and making it more difficult for them to find the goal.

Amadou Onana heads the corner wide.

He's a threat from set pieces, but he may have taken this off the head of Jan Vertonghen, who was well placed behind him.

We're starting to get a bit of action now. It's a nice drop of the shoulder from Eden Hazard. The shot might have been going into the side netting but Munir wasn't to know that and had to get across to make the save.

That's the Eden Hazard that Premier League fans will remember.

He runs at the Morocco defence, drops a shoulder to get his past his man and then hammers towards the near post.

Munir Mohamedi is equal to it though and parries behind for a corner. It may have been going into the side-netting anyway.

You could see what Ziyech wanted to do. As soon as he faced up to Witsel, he knew he had the beating of him, shifted it onto his left but didn't quite get hold of the shot.

Sho: For all the talent that Belgium have they're just not a team and they play some awful stuff.

If Hakim Ziyech keeps shooting he will eventually score, I'm sure.

He drops his left shoulder to open another opportunity but curls straight into Thibaut Courtois' hands.

I think Belgium have had a little shift in their shape. It looks as though Thorgan Hazard is going to play a little bit higher.

Morocco have never won a World Cup game when failing to score in the first half, drawing four and losing seven of their previous 11 such games.

Fourteen of the 26 games at the 2022 World Cup have been goalless at half time.

Morocco are dominating possession at the start of the second period, but it is all in the midfield third at the moment.

Aleks Yakubssohn: Belgium slacking for second game in a row, perhaps trying to be savvier than before and save best for later. This may work but it also may get punished. And the goal should've stood, cause Saiss didn't touch the ball, it's Courtouis' flop that it went in.

James Lockwood: Based on this first half it seems that Belgium's "golden generation" have missed their chance to win a major trophy, England fans can relate!

I think, from a quick scramble, it is 39-19 in terms of second-half to first-half goals so far.
