GOAL - Brazil 1-0 Serbiapublished at 63 mins

    Richarlison

    It was coming!

Brazil coach Tite said that Richarlison smelt of goals ahead of this World Cup. He is right where he needs to be to finish into an empty net after Vinicius Jr's angled shot from inside the box is saved by Vanja Milinkovic-Savic. Neymar was the man finding the Real forward. Pulling strings.

    It's a different contest now!

We talked about the full-backs getting forward and it's a wonderful effort, beats the keeper but ricochets off the post.

There was so much pace on it.

Neymar is now the most fouled player at this World Cup (seven - two more than any other player)

  4. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 61 mins

    Brazil 0-0 Serbia

A lick of paint! That is all that stands between Brazil and the lead.

Alex Sandro unleashes a superb low drive from range that flies along the turf but strikes the inside of the post before pinging across the box and away from danger.

    They're getting closer.

This game is shaping up like the Portugal v Serbia qualifier, where Mitrovic stole a win at the end. Brazil's defence look vulnerable without Militao.

Serbia's defending is so impressive. Powerful and resolute. Brazil are applying the pressure but they are running into a brick wall at the moments.

The corner comes in and prompts a bit of head tennis before a decisive Brazilian bonce gets the ball away.

Serbia won't get many opportunities, but this is one. They have a corner.

Since his first World Cup in 2014, Neymar has had more direct free kick shots without scoring one than any other player (nine).

Hugo: Sorry, but have to say that the Brazil team barber could do with some lessons of the fade. Some shocking haircuts on these multi millionaires.

  13. 'Brazil full-backs sitting deep'published at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2022

It's interesting watching this Brazil team where the full-backs don't really want to go forward quite so much as we've seen in World Cups that have gone by, shall we say.

Gilberto Silva would have sat there and the full-backs, Roberto Carlos and Cafu, would get forward.

These full-backs are just sitting deep.

    Another Brazil chance!

Again, it is Vinicius Jr supplying it. His low ball into the box is met by Neymar, who gets his shot away but sends it past the post.

Vinicius is the key man at the moment. Most of what is good about Brazil is coming through him.

Serbia don't look like they can cause Brazil any problems going forward.

  16. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Brazil turning the screw.

Vincius Jr gets away down the left and crosses for a team-mate to fling himself in. The Serbian defence is well-positioned, though, and Milos Veljkovic heads away.

Raphinha again gets an opportunity but can't take advantage. This one is mainly down to Strahinja Pavlovic, who times his sliding tackle superbly. The Barcelona player needed a firmer touch to take the ball wider.

Brazil have lost just one of their last 11 World Cup games that were 0-0 at half time (won seven, drew three) and eight of their last 10 World Cup goals have come in the second half.

    Brazil 0-0 Serbia

From the corner, there is a moment when it looks like Richarlison is going to get an effort away, but Serbia crowd him out.

One Serbia player punched another accidentally as the ball came in, but the recipient is OK.
