1. Who is going to win it?published at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2022

Throughout the tournament, the boffins at the BBC, using data from Opta, have been producing a prediction model for nations' chances of winning the World Cup.

The prediction model estimates the probability of each match outcome - win, draw or loss - by using betting market odds and Opta's team rankings. The odds and rankings are based on historical and recent team performances. The model then considers opponent strength and the difficulty of their path to the final by using match outcome probabilities.

As you can see, the latest version has seen Argentina and Netherlands both leap up following their progress to the last eight.

Brazil remain the model's favourites for success, though.

You’d be forgiven for thinking you were at the match for real, such is noise here in Wembley.

Although it’s not all over, the fans here now certainly think it’s going on to be an England v France match up in the next round.

The crowds have, unsurprisingly, burst in to renditions of Three Lions as they celebrate the first half success.

England will have one aim right now... control this game. Another goal would be magnificent, but the chief cause is to strangle the life out of any Senegal revival.

    Hey, Jude.

You've become the first teenager to assist in a World Cup knockout stage game since 1966.

Yep, you read that right. Not a bad first half performance by the 19-year-old, was it?

Jude Bellingham has been England's engine as they motored away from Senegal with two goals in 10 minutes before the interval.

The teenager led the way on a host of metrics in that first half, including the most duels won (eight), tackles won (three), possession won in the final third (two) and fouls won for his side (two).

He also has a 100% passing accuracy in the final third (six passes) and an overall pass completion of 96% (23 passes) - the best records on the pitch.

    Micah Richards
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

He's 19. He's nineteen years of age. To put in a performance like that is just incredible. When the game was flat and Senegal were causing us real problems. Just when you need someone to grab the game by the scruff of the neck, Bellingham was there - whether it was defending, attacking, passing.

I like how aggressive he is as well. He is going up against a strong and fast Senegalese team. What a performance it was.

His decision making as well. He's got that part of his game already at such a young age. It's breathtaking.

    Matt Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was a masterclass in midfield play from Bellingham. The energy, his body language, the way he is springing about the pitch. It's like a kid in the park, the way he is playing with the freedom, the expression, I can't talk highly enough of it.

It's what you want to see in these high pressure games. To have someone with that mentality, to have the ball and want to drive and just look like he's enjoying football, that's Jude Bellingham.

The Senegal fans have gone a little quiet at the break. England showed their quality in the decisive moments and that was a blow for the African champions to concede a second on the brink of half-time. There is still a small contingent dancing though.
