You can see the line of the Moroccan defence, they always take up the same line almost to the yard.

So the Portuguese know where the breakthrough points are but it will take the perfect through pass to do get through, which hasn't happened so far.

It could be a long night for Morocco. They are struggling to keep possession each time they venture into Portugal's half which is not that often. Fortunately for them, Portugal have not hit any sort of rhythm themselves.

Portugal, who are playing in white, scored six in their last game but they are being frustrated by a red wall of Moroccan shirts.

So far so good for the north Africans.

Free-kick to Portugal after Otavio is on the receiving end of a crunching challenge by Yahya Attiat-Allah. It's pinged into the box and Morocco need a couple of attempts to get it clear.

Portugal are focusing their pressure down the right-hand flank in the opening exchanges, with forwards Goncalo Guedes (26, pink) and Joao Felix (11, pink), playing out wide.

The only goal Morocco have conceded at this World Cup was an own goal. It was a good early save by Bono earlier to keep out Joao Felix but the north Africans will be reasonably happy with their start.

We thought it would be the Moroccans defending deep, playing with desire and pride as we expect form them. However, they have been a bit more open so far.

This place is still a long, long way from being full but the whistling is at a deafening volume whenever Portugal are on the ball - which is quite a lot so far, they've had 74% of possession.

Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, so key in the last round at keeping Spain out, has already been in the thick of the action, winning two important tackles already.

The signs are he is going to be busy again today.

Morocco immediately respond with an attack of their own which ends with a chance flying over the bar but it would not have counted as there was an offside.

Nevertheless, this has been a lively start.

The Morocco goalkeeper Bono is so tight with his passing and he draws players in the way a midfielder would. He takes incredible chances the the ball at his feet and one day he's going to get caught out.

A huge chance for Portugal!

A free-kick is delivered into the Morocco box and Joao Felix forces Bono into a flying save.

That was a powerful header and the Morocco keeper did well to beat it behind for a corner.

The early exchanges are being played at a slow tempo and Ruben Dias is allowed lots of time to pick out a pass. Both teams are feeling each other out.

The whistling started from the second Portugal kicked off... replaced by a roar as soon as Morocco won the ball for the first time.

An early touch for Bono in the Morocco goal and immediately there are whistles and jeers each time a Portuguese player touches the ball.

The noise levels are INCREDIBLE.

This stadium is far from full at the moment but if I remember rightly, Morocco fans don't worry about getting here early.

The ones that are here just blasted out their national anthem with great gusto.

It's approaching 4pm in downtown Casablanca where you can be sure the atmosphere will be bouncing.

It was a big decision that the coach took to leaving Cristiano Ronaldo out and one that could have gone either way.

But the performance in itself was absolutely incredible. It was some of the best football we have watched and credit to the coach.

Having Ronaldo coming off the bench...wow. If you are a defender and the game is in the last 20 or 30 minutes and you see Ronaldo coming on, let's just say it's not easy.

That firework show was something else. That will have cost a few pounds to put on. Now it's national anthem time. Morocco's players place one arm across their chests and belt it out.
