This is so undeserved. France have been very poor and for all his talent Mbappe has barely worked up a sweat and has been anonymous. The best team don't always win - certainly not this evening.

Harry Kane's team-mates politely asked for the camera operators to move away from him because he was inconsolable. Jude Bellingham had his shirt over his face and was lying on his back before he got to his feet. When Rashford's free-kick went over Harry Kane looked to the sky.

Credit to France here. They are lapping up the adulation from their fans. They will know just how big a game this was to win.

England were the better side in that second-half. But the world champions are such for a reason. They find ways to win.

Harry Kane sinks to to his haunches. He stares at the ground. He will think of that second penalty for many a year after this.

It was so unlike the Kane we know. Such an off-brand spot-kick. But he remains a star for this team. There is no disgrace.

John Stones is down now and holding his ankle. Just to keep things as tense as they can be.

He looks to have gone over on it.
