It's a wonder-ball from that man Griezmann on the touchline. He fires in a wonderful cross and Giroud has made that run a million times in his career. He's asking for that ball and he does it to perfection. It takes a little nick off Harry Maguire and beats Pickford.

    He doesn't miss this one!

England deal with the corner but France are quick to shift the ball wide left. Antoine Griezmann gets the ball out of his feet and whips a superb cross for Olivier Giroud to meet ahead of Harry Maguire. Pickford has no chance and England have it all to do again.

A huge moment in the game, a fantastic save and it's the moment that Olivier Giroud has been waiting for. He's just waiting for it but it's a big, big save from Jordan Pickford.

    BIG SAVE!

Jordan Pickford to England's rescue as a ball floated to the back post is headed back into the middle for the unmarked Olivier Giroud to volley. It is close to Pickford and at a good height, but he still saves.

    Bob: France getting hammered 1-1.

KK: How England aren’t up by at least 2 goals is beyond me!

Olivier Giroud tries to use his size and strength to good effect in the box, but Luke Shaw uses his body well to prevent any clean contact from the French forward's head.

England are screaming for a penalty again!

This time it is Jude Bellingham getting clumsily challenged by Dayopt Upamecano. I'm giving the defender the benefit of the doubt on this one, but it's risky stuff.

England look fitter, they look stronger. First to the second balls, pressing more.

OH, I THOUGHT THIS WAS IN!

Luke Shaw drives down the left and crosses low. Bukayo Saka is charging to meet it but has Theo Hernandez for company. The ball hits one of the them and flies wide.

Argh, it's deemed a foul by Saka.

    OOOOOHHHHH!!!

Harry Maguire is so, so, so close with a header from the free-kick. He meets it and steers his effort but just shaves the outside of the post.

    Hugo Lloris at full stretch.

It might sound a bit old-school but England are winning the aerial battles when England go long. It may sound like I'm from 1996, but sometimes it works.

Alan: Some of the decisions Saka isn’t getting are bewildering.

Josh: Bakayo Saka could be hit with a frying pan and this referee still wouldn't give a free kick.

Bukayo Saka is taken down and this time it is a foul to England in the France half. Is it every odd numbered challenge that's a foul?

Ousmane Dembele isn't expecting a cross from Kylian Mbappe to beat the man in front of him and reach him in the box. Had he anticipated it, he could have been in. A heavy touch lets England off.

Just over 20 minutes of this gripping game to go. And the rest if it stays like this.

Saka is still down. So is Olivier Giroud, who is holding his leg after stretching to reach a ball into the box.

The replay for that "tackle" on Saka... it was about three fouls.

Saka is clattered again in the France half. Does he get a free-kick? Nope.

This ref is just calling it by numbers.

France remain a potent threat, but they've not been around the England box for a while. They try to chip a ball over the top for a runner but there's way too much on it.

Saka looking more like Mbappe than Mbappe.

    David G

Having slagged Saka off throughout the first half, I'm choking on those words now... a player transformed!
