The last time France scored the opening goal in a World Cup game and lost was in 1982 against Poland.

That silenced the Moroccan supporters for a few seconds - they could not have asked for a worse start.

But they haven't been silenced for long. The chants, the whistles, the drumming has started again.

This is unknown territory for Morocco now, not just being in a World Cup semi-final but being behind.

Their success in Qatar has come from a solid defence and then taking their chances. They have to score now.

It's a shocker of a start for Morocco, there are some very glum faces in the stands.

It is the first time they have been behind in the tournament, a rather conservative side now have to come out and play.

Which means more gaps at the back for the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann to exploit.

All the talk has been about the Morocco backline not making a mistake. Griezmann tries to pick out Mbappe who misses with his first strike.

His second strike is a deflection and it falls to Theo Hernandez. He takes it superbly, gets that left hip up nice and high from an angle and fires past Bono in the Morocco goal. The perfect start from France.

AC Milan's Theo Hernandez has had a strange World Cup. He started on the bench until his brother Lucas, the first-choice left-back got injured in the opening game.

This is the first time Morocco have trailed in this World Cup.

It was naive defending to try and pinch the ball in front of Griezmann and they were scrambling all over the place.

Hernandez took his time and it was good technique.

Disastrous start for Morocco. It was poor defending, which is very unlike them.

Morocco fans are generating an absolutely incredible atmosphere.

Red shirts are bouncing up and down chanting, "Dima Maghreb (forever Morocco)."

It's quite a sight.

That was a very late change, they have obviously given him every opportunity to play in the game but he hasn't felt up to it.

It is still the same formation, but it is a blow for them because he's been terrific.

Morocco aren't looking overawed at all. Why would they when they've beaten Belgium, Spain and Portugal so far?

Losing Aguerd is a huge blow for Morocco. They can't worry and overthink about that now but he is one of their first choice defenders. We thought Saiss might be the one missing out.

Looks like Morocco made a very late change to their team. Achraf Dari starts instead of West Ham's Nayef Aguerd, who was a doubt. Something must have happened during the warm-up.

It is fantastic to have Morocco here.

The atmosphere is incredible. You can feel the tension.

Boos and whistles for Ousmane Dembele as he gets the ball on France's wing. Not because he's done anything wrong, just because this stadium is full of Morocco fans.

Are we going to see one of the all-time great World Cup stories? Or will France turn on the quality and get the job done?
