  1. 'Morocco are still in it'published at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2022

    HT: France 1-0 Morocco

    Chris Sutton
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Morocco finished the half the stronger team. They are still in it at half time. France should have been out of sight. We feel that Morocco should have been awarded a penalty, baffled with that decision but the French lead at half time.

  2. 'Morocco responded really well'published at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2022

    HT: France 1-0 Morocco

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC One

It was a really good first half. It was really entertaining.

Morocco responded really well. They were not as tight as I thought they would be. They believe they can go on and win this game.

  3. 'Morocco are targeting France's left'published at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2022

    HT: France 1-0 Morocco

    Rio Ferdinand
Former England defender on BBC One

We highlighted France's left as a weakness and Morocco have targeted that, certainly as the half that has gone on. It looks like they might get some joy there.

Ilian 21, and his sister Dania, 27, are both fans of the French team and are watching in a bar near the Champs-Elysées in Paris

"I am a long time fan of the French team," says Ilian, who predicted it would be 3-0 by half-time.

"Since the beginning of the World Cup, I am convinced France can because it’s clearly the best team.

"The Moroccan team has done a beautiful tournament. I lived a long time in Ivory Coast so I am very happy for them that they are representing Africa in this semi-final. it’s very promising for the future!""

    France 1-0 Morocco

    Andy Cryer
    BBC Sport in Qatar

    Morocco are right in this.

Don't concede early in the second half and, with this crowd behind them, you could imagine a real test of nerve for France going into the closing stages.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 19:48 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2022

    France 1-0 Morocco

France are 45 minutes away from a second consecutive World Cup final.

But Morocco are still in this - and were inches away from being level.

  7. Postpublished at 45+3 mins

    France 1-0 Morocco

Morocco have a free-kick on the wing. One final chance for Hakim Ziyech to whip it in before the break. It's punched away by Hugo Lloris.

    Steve Wilson

France are as uncomfortable in this period as they have been in the whole game.

    France 1-0 Morocco

    Chris Sutton

El Yamiq with a bicycle kick and it hammers the right hand post. I think Lloris gets a tiny touch to that, a crucial touch.

Here was a good double chance for France.

  14. 'Get some crosses in for En-Nesyri'published at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2022

    France 1-0 Morocco

    Chris Sutton
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

En-Nesyri has been starved of service but when you saw his leap for the goal against Portugal, you think why not get some crosses into the box against the big centre backs Konate and Varane. Not many defenders could have lived with that En-Nesyri jump.

  15. 'Incredible'published at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2022

    France 1-0 Morocco

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One

What an effort! Incredible! He watched it all the way.

Hugo Lloris actually saved it I think. It was glove and post.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 45 mins

    France 1-0 Morocco

What did we just see there? The Morocco corner is half-cleared out to Jawad El Yamiq, near the edge of the box, and he flies into the air and launches a remarkable bicycle-kick towards goal which Hugo Lloris tips onto the post. Amazing shot.

Morocco win a corner as Ibrahima Konate slides behind to deny Achraf Hakimi. A chance for a chance.

  18. Postpublished at 43 mins

    France 1-0 Morocco

I've just seen a stat which has blown my mind (slight exaggeration). Morocco have had 55% of the ball. They are usually dominated on possession - but they're usually not chasing a goal.

  19. 'Get the ball to Hakimi'published at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2022

    France 1-0 Morocco

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One

Morocco have to start using Archaf Hakimi whenever they can because Kylian Mbappe isn't following him at all. They have to get the ball out to the right because he is the out ball.

Fair play to Morocco fans still having the energy to whistle every time France have the ball.
