George: If Erik ten Hag wants to create a sustainable brand of football at United, then he is going to have to let the big personalities of Fernandes, Lingard, Pogba and Ronaldo go. They’re the root of all United’s toxicity.

Harrison Short: You can appoint as many revered managers as you like, but until United’s toxic culture is addressed from top to bottom, this club aren’t going anywhere. Good luck to ETH.

Mike Crew: Good luck Erik; you’re gonna need it!

Some feel Erik ten Hag is taking a risk at Manchester United but I don't see it like that.

It has become obvious that the issues at United go beyond the manager and will take some time to resolve, which should provide Ten Hag with some time to implement his ideas, or avoid blame if they don't work immediately.

His reputation in Europe is high. If this doesn't work out, I don't think it will put other big clubs off trying to recruit him.
