And here comes Bobby Linn, the most popular bin man in Scotland! He'll be here next season after signing a new contract two weeks ago.

James Craigen in the man replaced.

Jack Hamilton is down just outside the Inverness area. Scott Stewart somehow managed to backheel Hamilton on his jaw, and the striker is now down receiving treatment.

Chris Hamilton is now into the book for a handball, after he thought he was fouled.

Reece McAlear fires the resulting free-kick over, and is immediately subbed off. Wallace Duffy is on, slotting in at right-back. David Carson moves into the midfield.

Can Arbroath capitalise on this man advantage? Not immediately, as Scott Stewart fires a shot into the North Sea.

I don't think Danny Devine's got good awareness of where the striker is. As far as a red card is concerned, I think it's harsh

  7. RED CARDpublished at 66 mins

    Arbroath 0-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

    Danny Devine is off!

It's just a lump forward. Jack Hamilton jumps up, nods it ahead of Devine, who then pulls Hamilton down. He's the last man, and Willie Collum has sent him off.

And there's a red card now to a member of Inverness' coaching staff too!

    Well, well, well. VAR anyone?

Another change from Inverness. Aaron Doran is off, replaced by Joe Hardy.

Meanwhile, Chris Hamilton is writhing in agony. It's a strong challenge from Logan Chalmers that has caused the stoppage in play. The defensive midfielder gets back to his feet, and will carry on bravely.

Pure desire. Hunger. Will to win. That's what Arbroath have got in abundance. It is a threat and a danger. If you come to a place like this and find yourself 1-0, it could be intimating. That would be a concern for [St Johnstone manager] Callum Davidson.

James Craigen fires across goal, it comes to Scott Stewart but he slashes it well wide. Another opportunity for Arbroath goes begging.

This game really could go either way, as neither side looking keen to take their chances.

Colin Hamilton is the first in the book for Arbroath, as Shane Sutherland nips the ball away from him.

The free-kick is whipped into the box and Danny Devine goes down in the box holding his face. Play rumbles on as Inverness enjoy their first swing of momentum.

    Side netting only!

Huge chance for Inverness as Shane Sutherland gets through on goal, nods it down to himself, and slices his left-footed shot into the side netting.

He should have done better, on his stronger foot. He could have squared it, too. Best chance of the game by some distance.

So close! Jack Hamilton surges into the box and cuts it back across goal... but no takers.

Arbroath have come flying out the traps in this second-half.

And the second-half is underway! There is Billy Mckay, who has 15 goals to his name this season.

Billy Dodds will be hoping he can add to that tonight.

Well we're already hearing there will be a change for Inverness at the half.

Austin Samuels is coming off, replaced by Billy Mckay. His task? Fire Caley Thistle into the play-off final. No pressure.

It's easy for this occasion to get on top of you. I'm just hoping for a bit more bravery in possession. The message from the managers will clearly be 'show a bit of composure and try and pass the ball better than you have done in the first-half.'

It's been a tough one. The wind has played a factor, you could see it as soon as the whistle went. Both teams look a bit nervy, if I'm honest. It has lacked quality and it's almost a case of nobody wanting to make a mistake.

  19. HALF-TIME Arbroath 0-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistlepublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 13 May 2022

After a tense and cagey ninety minutes in Inverness on Tuesday night, we have a tense and cagey opening forty-five minutes in Arbroath.

Both sides clearly want it, but neither have shown the composure necessary to truly trouble the goalkeepers at either end.

A low cut across from Austin Samuels towards the end of the half was the most Derek Gaston had to do, whilst Mark Ridgers was able to pluck the ball out of the sky on occasion.

Plenty to come in the second-half. And if not, it's extra time.

Dick Campbell is down from his seat in the stand and arguing with the fourth official. Didn't take too long.

Ian Campbell isn't happy either. If you can't tell the difference, he's the brother without the bunnet.

The first-half winding down slowly, with neither side showing that composure in the final third.
