  1. 'Best chances have fallen to Frankfurt'published at 21:07 British Summer Time 18 May 2022

    HT: Eintracht Frankfurt 0-0 Rangers

    BT Sport

Ex-Rangers striker Kenny Miller on BT Sport: "The best chances have fallen to Frankfurt, no doubt. Some of it is Rangers' own doing, they have a lot to improve on but it's positive it's still 0-0.

Rangers legend Ally McCoist on BT Sport: "It's not been a great first half in terms of football. I feel that's because both teams are better without the ball. Rangers have grown into the game, but we've also seen Frankfurt are a very good team.

I'm sat down in the gantry having a rest, so I don't know how the players are feeling! The heat, the nerves, the spectacle, what's at stake, it's a combination of everything... When Rangers put the ball forward early in good areas, you see Scott Wright looking lively. Ryan Kent has not been in the game as much, they need to get him in the game more. Both teams will be thinking they can play better.

I think he'll leave it 20 minutes [before bringing on Kemar Roofe], just after the hour mark. He'll get them to calm down and relax a little bit. Rangers aren't producing it so far. Eintracht Frankfurt have had the better chances.

    And breathe.

This has been energy sapping just to watch from the stands, let alone play in. It's been absorbing stuff in sweltering Seville.

Rangers are giving as good as they're getting here. Aribo has arced one painfully wide, Lundstram has had a header tipped just over, while Ryan Jack should have kept a rising shot down just before the break. Considering how much the Scots have struggled to bring Aribo into play, they're still causing problems.

However, there's been more than a few warning signs at the other end. Ansgar Knauff was denied with a wonderful Allan McGregor save (we have heard that before), while some sloppy passing out from the back has threatened to undo Rangers' good work.

It's so far, so good. But you feel both teams have much more to give here.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be much the happier manager. Rangers grew into the game and they look comfortable on the ball. They look as if they can go by players. There's a panic in each of the back three of Eintracht Frankfurt.

There are limitations in the quality of this game which happens in finals. If we get a goal it could open up to be a cracker.

  8. HALF-TIME Eintracht Frankfurt 0-0 Rangerspublished at 45+6 mins

The players trudge off for a break from the searing heat.

It's been lively without really catching fire, despite the best efforts of the raucous supporters.

Eintracht looked the more dangerous side for the opening 25 minutes but Rangers have crept back into it and had a good spell towards the end of the half.

Corner to the Germans. The cross is repelled and Ryan Kent does so well to steal the ball deep in his own half but then spoils the good work with a stray pass and an opportunity to break is gone.

Ryan Jack will be disappointed with that. He should have done better, he should have made the keeper work. It's a strong finish from Rangers in this first-half.

  13. Kostic v Tavernierpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 18 May 2022

    Eintracht Frankfurt 0-0 Rangers

It's been a fascinating battle between Filip Kostic and James Tavernier on the Eintracht left so far. It was a much-anticipated duel pre-match.

The Rangers captain is showing signs of settling into the game after a shaky start with half-time nearing.

You can feel it with Rangers. 'We've got it, we know what we're doing here, we can hold it better than the opposition'. There's a real lift, a real bite to their play.

  15. Postpublished at 41 mins

Rangers pop the ball around at the back to catch a breath as half-time approaches. Borna Barisic then speeds things up, threading a pass forward for Joe Aribo to chase, but the covering defender is too strong.

Rangers had a little period where they were struggling. Then the fans raised the volume. They felt that on the pitch. Rangers started closing players down, blocking clearances, winning corners. Tavernier's quality hasn't been there, it's not like him. But that's when you need the fans, when you're having a wee wobble.

Booming chants of "Glasgow Rangers" echo around the stadium as Rangers press high, and eventually force a corner. The Scots are on their feet all around us.

  19. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Eintracht Frankfurt 0-0 Rangers

Rangers win a corner but James Tavernier's ballooned delivery proves too difficult for John Lundstram to deal with.

Ryan Kent drives forward and is brought crashing down.

The free-kick delivery is much better and Lundstram can steer a header on target, only for Kevin Trapp to touch the ball over.

Noisy atmosphere at the Estadio la Cartjuja, where Rangers fans are watching the final on big screens. Organisers said 30,000 tickets were sold. Not as many as that many have made it here but still estimate a crowd of 15-20,000.

Plenty of atmosphere before kick off. Big reaction for Allan McGregor's saves and Joe Aribo shooting just wide.
