Republic of Ireland goalscorer Alan Browne on Premier Sports: “At this level you have to be motivated for every game and I think we have been.

“From that point we really dominated the game.

“We have belief going into every game. The first goal is crucial at this level. You can then pick teams off, and we proved that tonight.”

FT: Republic of Ireland 3-0 Scotland

A slightly stunned looking Scotland captain Andy Robertson has been giving his reaction on Premier Sports.

"It wasn't good enough," he said. "And that's the second time in 10 days we've said that and it's not like us.

"We've let our manager down. He set us up to play a certain way and we've not carried it out. Every one of us lost our individual battles out there.

"The fans behind the goal booing us off were completely right to do that. It was nowhere near good enough in a Scotland jersey."

The Republic of Ireland can travel to Poland, where they'll play group leaders Ukraine, with a spring in their step and a sense of optimism back.

Suddenly, Scotland's win against a poor Armenia team looks like the aberration in this window. They travel to Yerevan to play Armenia again on Tuesday with a point to prove.

  7. 'Really negative performance' from Scotlandpublished at 18:59 British Summer Time 11 June 2022

It was a really negative performance and that's two bad performances in three games. We're clinging on to a performance against Armenia to get us through and hopefully another good performance away from home this time against them to give us hope

It's all over. Talk about a bloody nose. Scotland fans came to the Irish capital expecting three points, let along hoping for them. In the end, they've been railroaded out of Dublin by a terrific Irish performance full of heart and vigour

  9. FULL-TIME - Republic of Ireland 3-0 Scotlandpublished at 18:54 British Summer Time 11 June 2022

A first ever Nations League win for Ireland, and it is richly deserved.

Goals from Alan Browne and Troy Parrott in the first half got them up and running, and Michael Obafemi's goal early in the second half sealed it. That one in particular was a screamer.

Scotland were bafflingly bad and have much to ponder.

It's not just the result, it's the manner of the performance; the nature of how poor it's actually been. There's just not been the same kind of snap to their play

    Republic of Ireland 3-0 Scotland

Callum Robinson's first impact is to catch Stuart Armstrong with a nasty challenge. He gets a yellow card, and he's perhaps lucky it's not more.

Armstrong is still down at the corner flag. Billy Gilmour absolutely balloons the free kick out of the park. Hard to really comprehend how far Scotland have been off the pace here.

Troy Parrott, after an excellent display which included the second goal, is replaced by Callum Robinson. Jeff Hendrick also comes off the bench for Jason Molumby.

A long diagonal searching for Stuart Armstrong runs straight out, which neatly sums up the quality on show from the visitors this evening.

A few minutes later and Ross Stewart is teed up in the box by Andy Robertson, but he takes too many touches and John Egan makes the block.

There is zero sign of a Scotland goal here. The Ireland team could not have dreamt about how comfortable they would find this match given their recent travails.

    A great display so far.

Scotland have not shown enough energy or fight even in the second half to try and get themselves back in the game. Everybody probably in the stadium knows it's going to be an Irish win. The Scotland players seem to be accepting that at the moment

A rare save for Caoimhin Kelleher as Jacob Brown gets a header on target. It was very tame, though.

John Souttar replaces Scott McKenna at centre-back for Scotland.

Ireland make a change. Jason Knight exits the pitch to a standing ovation after a brilliant performance, and Conor Hourihane replaces him.

Ireland are tiring slightly but full of confidence.

Nathan Collins feeds a delicious pass in behind for Troy Parrott, but his low cross is collected by Craig Gordon in the Scotland goal.

    Scotland look out of ideas.
