    Hearts 0-0 Ross County

It's probably not too much of a stretch to say Hearts boss Robbie Neilson would have given his players a bit of a stern talking to in the dressing room at half time.

The hosts have started the second half brighter and with more intent in their pressing.

    St Johnstone 0-0 Hibernian

Much better from St Johnstone as they get forward with some purpose at last.

Former Hibs player, Jamie Murphy, flings himself at a header as Ryan Porteous tries to clear but his effort is off target.

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Dundee United

Tony Watt curls a cross to an unmarked Ian Harkes but he plants his header into the ground instead of the net.

Harkes then goes into the book as he kicks the ball away from Sam Walker as the Killie keeper tried to volley it up the pitch.

The hosts go up the pitch and a long ball into the box is volleyed over from close range by Oli Shaw.

A lively start to the second half at Rugby Park...

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Dundee United

Alan Power on his return to Kilmarnock, picking up a yellow card. The Scottish Premiership is well and truly back.

He concedes a free-kick on the edge of the box, which Charlie Mulgrew curls just over the bar.

    HT: St Johnstone 0-0 Hibernian

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at McDiarmid Park

Hibs with the bulk of possession, carrying all the threat, and with the two best - and only - scoring opportunities -, but nothing to show for it yet.

For all their dominance, the final piece of the jigsaw has been missing in front of goal.

It has been a tough shift for St Johnstone, they have worked hard, and defended reasonably well, but in term of providing any sort of attacking cutting edge, they have been pretty blunt so far.

  12. HALF-TIME Hearts 0-0 Ross Countypublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 30 July 2022

For large spells of the half it has been the Owura Edwards show. The wide-man was a menace for Nathanial Atkinson to deal with - and the Aussie defender was hooked by manager Robbie Neilson.

Hearts started brightly but Ross County asserted themselves in impressive style.

If not for the woodwork - twice - and an impressive save by Craig Gordon, it could be all over already.

  13. HALF-TIME St Johnstone 0-0 Hibernianpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 30 July 2022

As dominant a half of football from Hibernian as manager Lee Johnson could have hoped for, but, for all of the visitors' possession, it remains goalless in Perth.

Midfielder Ewan Henderson had the best opportunity of the game when he was roaming free in the box, but he lacked the composure to keep his effort on target.

St Johnstone have struggled to test David Marshall and Callum Davidson will be delighted his side are still in it.

  14. HALF-TIME Kilmarnock 0-1 Dundee Unitedpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 30 July 2022

A tetchy first-half in the glorious Ayrshire sunshine and it's United who go in with the lead.

The visitors looked a little undercooked for the majority of the first-half, right up until Steven Fletcher's cute backheel teed up Dylan Levitt to rifle home from close range.

Kilmarnock's best chances all fell to Liam Polworth - back in the Killie side after being sent out on loan by previous manager Tommy Wright - but he was unable to properly test Mark Birighitti on all three occasions.

    Hearts 0-0 Ross County

Uh-oh... Owura Edwards is receiving some treatment now on the pitch. Nervy moments for Malky Mackay before the tricky winger returns to his feet to play on.

After County's succession of chances, the pace game has been turned down a notch.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Dundee United

Not too much in the way of clear chances, but Kilmarnock are being cheered on by a bumper crowd at Rugby Park.

Ryan Edwards has a pass picked off at the back and again, it's that man Liam Polworth, who has an effort at goal. This time, Mark Birighitti is right behind it.
