  1. Postpublished at 73 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

Huddersfield are looking the more likely to get a goal now.

The away side fail to hack the ball clear as panic sets in and Danny Ward sends a snapshot a couple of yards over the bar from 18 yards out.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 71 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

Aother sub for the home side.

Jon Russell is off for Huddersfield and David Kasumu is on.

Kasumu, like Burnley's Scott Twine, was with MK Dons last season.

Ashley Barnes has worked hard this evening.

The veteran Clarets striker hasn't had too many chances but has led the line well.

However, they want him in the area, not crossing the ball in.

He sends in a decent centre but there's nobody there to really attack it.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 69 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

Scott Twine IS now on for his Burnley debut.

Samuel Bastien is the man replaced.

Twine scored a lot of goals from range for MK Dons last season. Wonder if he might chance his arm in these closing 20 minutes?

  5. Postpublished at 67 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    Urgh, a waste.

Jack Rudoni wins a corner for the home side and Sorba Thomas is over it.

His delivery is normally so reliable but this one is easily cleared by the man at the near post.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 66 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

For all that Huddersfield have looked much better this half they are yet to test Clarets goalkeeper Arijanet Muric.

They've got 25 minutes to change that.

Clarets defender Charlie Taylor is shown a yellow card for taking an age over a defensive free-kick.

  7. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    Well now.

Sorba Thomas swings in a dangerous free-kick from the Town right.

Ashley Barnes has got a hold of Tom Lees arm and the Town man goes to ground. Nothing doing.

Burnley haven't been able to replicate what we saw from them in the first half so far since the break.

The Clarets signed League One's player of the year Scott Twine from MK Dons in the summer and I wonder if he might be on sooner rather than later for his competitive debut.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    Glen Little
Former Burnley winger on BBC Radio Lancashire

In the last five minutes they've just come into it a bit, Huddersfield.

They're putting Burnley under a bit of pressure.

  10. ouch!

    Postpublished at 59 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

Eesh, that's a sore one for Charlie Taylor.

The Burnley defender looks to head away Sorba Thomas' free-kick but keeper Arijanet Muric is off his line to punch away and clatter his own man.

    He's ok to continue.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 58 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

First yellow card of the season shown to Josh Cullen of Burnley.

He stopped sub Tino Anjorin's enterprising run on the edge of the area but think he might have been booked for dissent.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 56 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

Home gaffer Danny Schofield has seen enough.

Tino Anjorin and Jack Rudoni are on and Josh Koroma and Duane Holmes are off.

You know you're starting to get to a certain age when Vincent Kompany is a manager with Craig Bellamy as his assistant and you can remember both being young up and coming players ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

  14. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

For the first time all night Huddersfield are actually getting their foot on the ball and moving it around.

Ollie Turton sends in a quality cross from the right that Danny Ward fancies but it's headed away just in front of him.

  15. 'Town have to improve'published at 21:10 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    Matthew Glennon
Former Huddersfield keeper on BBC Radio Leeds

I think it was over 300 passes for Burnley in that first half and 73% possession.

    They can't let that continue.

Town are just putting a bit of pace into the game now.

  16. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

The away side win the first corner of the second half.

Josh Brownhill swings it in but home striker Danny Ward is there to head away from danger.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

I speak a very, very small amount of Italian thanks to four years of occasional use of Duolingo... Perfetti definitely means perfect.

    HT: Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

Richard Byrne: At this rate, by full-time, Burnley will have more shots on target than in the whole of last season.

Julio: Be interesting to see Burnley this season. I'd love to see it go really well but how many times have we seen a club go down, get a new manager with a new philosophy and a mass turnover in players (rebuild) only to end up languishing 17th at Christmas and sack the manager?

Laurence Ridge: I don't think anyone knew what to expect with Kompany at the helm of Burnley. But wow. 73% possession and looking dangerous. The 1-0 scoreline is not doing the first half justice.

Clive: Burnley should be two or three up by half-time. Looking quite impressive and assured.

So far, so good for Vincent Kompany's men but we're just 45 minutes in and, as well all know, it's a long, long season in the Championship.
