  1. 'It's been total dominance'published at 20:51 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    HT: Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    Glen Little
Former Burnley winger on BBC Radio Lancashire

The only criticism is Burnley should've had more, as it's been total dominance.

When they've had to go long and break they've done that, but they've kept possession and also go the keeper involved - it looks like he wants to play sweeper.

They've done to Huddersfield tonight when plenty of Premier League sides did to Burnley.

Ian Maatsen's goal the difference but in truth 1-0 flatters the home side.

New Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has clearly learned a thing or two from his time playing under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

The Clarets are playing some really lovely stuff and, but for some wasteful finishing from Connor Roberts and Dara Costelloe, this game would be done and dusted.

In contrast, new Huddersfield boss Danny Schofield sees his charges booed off at the break.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    It's just one-way traffic.

Burnley are pouring forward at every given opportunity and the home side are hanging on for half time.

  4. 'Big team talk coming for new Town boss'published at 20:45 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    Matthew Glennon
Former Huddersfield keeper on BBC Radio Leeds

Danny Schofield has got a very interesting team talk.

He's going to have a lot to say and I don't think very much of it is going to be good.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    That's a chance.

Brilliant play from the away side opens Town up down their right and goalscorer Ian Maatsen sends in a quality cross on the run.

Debutant Dara Costelloe, who has impressed, looks to take it first time on the bounce but it hits the wrong part of his foot and flies well wide.

Bit better from Huddersfield as they break forward with some intent.

Josh Koroma comes in off the left and tries for a shot at goal but it's blocked.

The Huddersfield fans are voicing their displeasure at what they're seeing.

The Terriers just can't get anything going at all so far.

New boss Danny Schofield has elected not to start any of his new signings but I would venture we might see a change or two at the break if this carries on.

  8. 'One-way traffic'published at 20:36 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    Glen Little
Former Burnley winger on BBC Radio Lancashire

It's been a total mismatch up to now, one-way traffic.

Huddersfield haven't been able to get near them.

    Really nice from Burnley this.

Passing the ball around neatly, always someone moving to make themselves available.

Nothing fancy but certainly effective from this showing.

Off the ball they're working hard and not letting the home side settle at all.

  10. 'Burnley toying with home side'published at 20:33 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    Matthew Glennon
Former Huddersfield keeper on BBC Radio Leeds

Burnley just look like they're toying with Town down that left hand side.

That's not something they're going to be happy with.

So far, so good for Vincent Kompany's men.

They look threatening every time they come forward and maybe should have more than just the one goal to show for their work so far.

Huddersfield are having to weather the storm and their new gaffer Dany Schofield has a lot to think about. His charges haven't had a shot so far.

Lee Suter: Enjoying this one as a Leeds fan - but for a last day win and glaring Burnley missed chances we could have been starting our season tonight!

A Burnley win over Newcastle on the final day would have seen the Clarets stay in the Premier League... At Leeds' expense.

  13. 'Not happening in midfield for Town'published at 20:26 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    Matthew Glennon
Former Huddersfield keeper on BBC Radio Leeds

The home fans need something here.

Huddersfield need to get further up the field.

    It's not happening in midfield.

  14. 'Could've been game over'published at 20:22 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    Glen Little
Former Burnley winger on BBC Radio Lancashire

I know it's early but that could've been game over, the way this first 20 minutes have played out.

He's a defender but that was a great chance for Connor Roberts.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 20 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Burnley

    Dear me.

    Huddersfield all over the place.

Jack Cork chips the ball over the Town defence and Connor Roberts is in but his shot is smothered by home goalkeeper Lee Nicholls.

Could be 2-0, maybe should be 2-0.

  16. goal

GOAL: Huddersfield 0-1 Burnleypublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    Ian Maatsen (18 mins)

    It had been coming!

Some neat passing brings Burnley up to the edge of the area where it looks like it's broken down, but full-back Ian Maatsen is well advanced and sweeps home from 18 yards.

Lift off for Vincent Kompany's men!

  17. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Burnley

Ashley Barnes gets another shot off for the away side.

Debutant Dara Costelloe plays him in down the inside right and the veteran striker goes for goal when maybe a low cross would have been a better idea.

Hmm, looking again at that Tom Lees challenge on Ashley Barnes and he doesn't really get much of the ball.

No VAR in the Championship of course.

Josh Cullen sends a shot straight at Lee Nicholls in the Town goal from 18 yards.

The away side building up a head of steam just now.

  19. 'That's a penalty'published at 20:11 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    Huddersfield 0-0 Burnley

    Glen Little
Former Burnley winger on BBC Radio Lancashire

Tom Lees has not got the ball there, that's a penalty.

It's a last-ditch challenge - maybe Ashley Barnes could've got the shot off quicker, but it's a penalty.

Burnley have got to get used to having no VAR in the Championship.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Burnley

First big chance and first big tackle of the night!

Ashley Barnes gets in behind the home defence but Tom Lees is over with a perfectly timed challenge just as he looks to pull the trigger!
